We wonted visit Ship Hector, but the museum was "closed 4 season". In Google was information, that museum is open and official web page doesn't work.

Do not miss this site. One gets to see the rugged onboard conditions endured by ancestors traveling to Canada from Scotland. Particularly good for young students to see.

I've been to Pictou more than once but had never taken the time to check out the Hector...my loss! This is a great stop...good museum which very effectively tells the story of Scottish immigration to Nova Scotia. Hard to believe what the early immigrants went...More

You wonder how a ship this size can cross the ocean, let alone carry almost 200 people crammed in it. The full size replica brings the story to life.

Once you've visted the center..... take a tour of the Ship Hector.... hard to believe that many people made that trip in the confines of this vessel @
