Great drive up to a frozen Lake Simcoe surrounded by knee high snow!

We made a spur of a moment decision to drive up to the lake (from Ajax straight up Lake Ridge - aprox 1hr) & were not disappointed with the lovely snowy scenery & views that met... read more

We made a spur of a moment decision to drive up to the lake (from Ajax straight up Lake Ridge - aprox 1hr) & were not disappointed with the lovely snowy scenery & views that met us as we wound past ski resorts & skiers on pistes. We didn't tire of the Christmas card views. The only people that were... More

Boating out of starport marina we often pull into McRae. Point and anchor in shallow water with sandy bottom for fun with friends and our family.

Where you can claim a spot on the pebble beach to enjoy a relaxing swim.. But one good tip would be to take a... More

What a beautiful lake and we really enjoyed the trip there, so quiet and peaceful. It would be nice to just sit out there and watch the world go by.

A very nice cruise around the lake one afternoon. They offered a 2 for 1 on Wednesday!! Was a bit disappointed in their beer selection, when they only had Coors but had a big ad for Flying Monkey a craft beer! Tour was informative of the area shore line.

I stayed on a small island, uninhabited on a permanent basis (well, we don't know that for sure, do we?), in Lake Simcoe in 2011 during a three-week stay in Toronto. Lake Simcoe was definitely a place to relax, almost away from civilization - the trip via a little boat from the port onto the island was basic and peaceful,... More
