After the Falls, this scenic drive is worth it

After the falls, drive toward Niagara On The Lake via the Niagara Parkway, which goes along the Niagara River on the Canadian side. In the spring, plenty of deer with fawns. On the driver's side, look for the unexpected huge Temple of the Ten Thousand Buddhas. Hidden inside the Botanical Gardens is the Butterfly conservatory ($) with hundreds of butterflies... More

Just before you turn right and head down towards Niagara on the Lake and the many Wineries is a Scenic Lookout that we have driven past many times without stopping. We happened to have relatives from England visiting and turned off hoping they would enjoy this different view of the Niagara River. We had no sooner parked than a bus... More

Of course, the Falls at Niagara are spectacular. But many people miss out on this gem of a drive along the Niagara River below the Falls on the way to Niagara on the Lake and Lake Ontario. There are many pull-offs for scenic views of the river, some beautiful homes to see, and some small but wonderful parks along the... More

Very pleasant drive north of the falls. Lots of wineries to stop and visit. Nicely maintained highway. Very relaxing!

There is a small park just before the traffic circle at Queenston on the Niagara River Pkwy on your right coming from the Falls. It is called Locust Grove nice little place just far enough from the road to be relatively peaceful. There are a number of picnic tables and BBQs unfortunately there is no washroom facility. The most interesting... More

Although we live 4 1/2 hours away, we try to go to the Niagara area each year, in the summer or fall. Our favourite drive when we are there is along the Parkway from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Niagara Falls ... and back! There is a lot to see and do along the way such as the Niagara River, beautifully groomed parks,... More

This is a perfect way to get to Lake Ontario. Lots of views of the Niagara River and many areas where you can get out and see various sights such as the Power plant,Brock's monument, the Floral Clock...beautiful...all made from flowers. Large mansions line the Parkway and several vineyards are also available to visit. Many biking trails if you wish to... More

We participated in the Ride for Roswell charity bike ride at the end of June. After navigating across the Peace Bridge and Fort Erie we were treated to a beautiful, cool, sunny ride up the Parkway to Niagara Falls. The Parkway itself is in good shape with few potholes or pavement problems. The views are beautiful. There is a bike... More

This is a very scenic road trip. You see the river below from many parking areas. There is a power plant the floral clock and the river views. Many large beautiful homes to see as you drive at a leisure pace. Well worth the drive and Lake Ontario at the other end of the drive.

Drove this road several times and was amazed at how much there was to see, both by driving and watching (deer beside the road, almost tame) and by stopping at the various attractions situated along the road.
