We have visitors stay with us all the time and I always try to plan big fancy days out. Our last three visitors have rated this walk at sunset as one of their favourite things. The atmosphere is just always great here

Well worth the walk
Well maintained winding picturesque boardwalk. View of ducks, sea gulls, squirrels are everywhere and add to the experience.
The walk is easy , mostly level and wide enough that it easily accommodates people walking in two directions
Highly recommend

This is an amazing spot to spend some quality time with family, friends , colleagues or even just yourself. Take the time to soak yourself in the lovely views of the lake and the amazing sounds of birds. nice lakefront path, but I found the path kind of short. We walked it in like 10 minutes., we got bored and went somewhere else. I also recommend trapping all the geese and turning them into dinner. I hate geese and the geese poop. We need to stop treating geese like people.

The Burlington Waterfront Trail provides a wonderful experience for just about everyone. One may cycle, walk, jog or just hang out. The trail runs from the Hamilton Harbour Lift Bridge to the pier at the end of Brant Street. The main elements of the trail were made from a former railway line which ran from Toronto the the US. One of the main features along the way is Spencer Smith Park, home of the country's biggest ribfest as well as the annual Sound of Music festival. The park features a water park for kids as well as swings and a zip line. Spenser's restaurant is an upscale dining site with excellent meals and a grand view of Lake Ontario. Nearby, there are numerous restaurants along Lakeshore and Brant Streets. Parking is free along the beach boulevard on a first come, first served basis. The trail is also accessible by public transit. No matter the time of year, the trail is enjoyable and quite calming as the waves roll in.

Easy and relax pace of moving around from places.
Loved the daily strolls along the waterfront which is scenic and calm.
Bus drivers are caring and polite to show the directions.
People are polite as well.
We will definitely visit Burlington again!

Quiet walk along the waterfront on an Grey overcast morning. Still there were places along the trail to explore the sites and sounds of nature. The air was filled with the honking of various families of geese calling to each other both in the water and along the beachfront. It’s a great time to reflect.

Great walk along the lake to the lift bridge and canal . the path is well maintained even in winter and it passes the outdoor skating rink. You can make it all the way to the lift bridge if you are up for it . No washrooms past Spencers .

This small park is only 2.5 km from Brant Street Pier. Just drive-in and park in front of the lake. Read a book, look-up, great view and sound. There is also a small quiet beach.

If you only want to see the Burlington Waterfront follow the directions that the other Trip Advisory's have given you.
After you see the Burlington Waterfront and you want to see more, travel along Lakeshore to Maple Street, turn left at the light and stay on Lakeshore which becomes Eastport Drive. If you stay on Eastport it will take you all the way along the waterfront. Keep to the left when you reach Beach Blvd and keep driving on Beach. Hutchins is a great place to dine and a good place to walk along the shore. Parking is free. You can actually walk right along the waterway into Hamilton. If you don't stop for lunch or dinner at Hutchins reward yourself with an ice-cream before you head home.
A fast way to get back to the QEW is to drive west (left turn) out the parking lot and until you see signs for Hwy #20 which will take you to the QEW. Maybe 5-8 minutes from Hutchins parking lot
Hope you enjoy, we usually do.

If we are going with a group to the beach on a weekday, what is the best place to park/meet? We will have kids, so access to bathrooms would be good, but we don't want to go where it's too crowded or hard to get parking

On a weekday, go early if you can. Drive along Lakeshore Rd and pass the new stop lights by the hospital. After that look on your left hand side for public washroom building and there are lots of parking spaces on the left hand side all along that route of the beach. There are some picnic tables around, bring folding chairs so you can sit right on water edge and watch the kids too. It is a wonderful location, for quiet or fun and they try their best to keep the beach clean. Love going there...lots of families go tjere for the day.

You can park at Spencer Smith Park and pay in the meter lot however if you drive a bit further down Lakeshore Drive towards Eastport Drive then you will find several free parking lots to access the trail.
If your main plan is to visit downtown Burlington and the waterfront then park at Spencer Smith and you will have close access to the downtown area.
If your main purpose is to walk/bike/roller blade then I would recommend the free parking and skip Spencer Smith Park to avoid the crowds.
