- Pat OMilton, Canada5 contributionsA Treasure of a ParkWe have had so many great family times at this park over the years - year-round. Walks, picnics and games - just so much to do. The playground is wonderful for the kids. They can wade into the creek to cool off in the summer and go tobogganing in the winter. The circle hike over the two bridges is great for families. We go back time and time again.Visited January 2023Written February 16, 2023

Unfortunately, people from Brampton and Mississauga bring giant families and pack the place with kids, litter and smelly BBQ'ed food.Visited May 2020Travelled as a coupleWritten May 11, 2020

I came up with my friend. I’m new to the area and I just happened upon Lowville Park. It was waaay too busy to enjoy. I asked one of the female employees if it was always this busy and she snapped at me and said “ya... usually. You’re being here isn’t helping”

The place to go, hidden but a jem nonetheless. The patio is a great area to escape the summer heat. Don't drive too fast down the hill or you miss it !

I love this place :-) It is not riddled with goose poop. It has varied terrain and nice paths. The river is perfect for the kids to play or watch salmon swim upstream and the playground is fun for the kids! Lots of private nooks and an ice cream parlour next door.

Lovely small park with good equipment to play on. Little stream to wade in or catch crayfish. Small restaurant across the street that serves ice cream.

My youngest son and I stopped at the park for a walk. Sadly, all of the picnic areas were full of noisy crowds. I suppose that's a sign of success for the park, but it doesn't make it appealing in terms of getting out for some peace and quiet.

Lowville Park has lots of open space suited for picnics and barbecues as well as playground equipment for kids. The area has undergone a revitalization effort between 2011-13 to restore parts of the Credit River to a more natural state. When I visited the fall colours were very beautiful and sounds of the river flowing were relaxing. Not an overly large area however. If you’re looking for a more immersive nature experience or hiking trails I would visit the nearby Mount Nemo Conservation Area.

Is there a lake or beach for swimming?

You can wade in the creek because it's but you shouldn't swim in it because the runoff of all the farms flow into that creek and the water isn't tested. Also, I recommend wearing water shoes if you decide to go wading because it does have a rocky bottom.
