This was our 5th attempt at an escape room..we tried The Copper Club..here are my thoughts: Good stuff: - staff (young woman)was very nice and seemed to enjoy her job. - the small room(s) were nicely designed in terms of props, eye-catching appeal. Some good tech ideas incorporated too! - staff allowed us to go over the time limit a little, as the room was known to be very hard, and it was a snowy day with some cancellations. The Not-So-Good Stuff: - The story-line was a bit 'blah'. No real suspense or sense of danger/excitment. - The logic required to get from clue to clue at some points was...stretched, to say the least! We had to ask for hints on more than one occasion, and even then, we often felt like it wasn't enough to make the leap. I won't give the game away..but let's just say for us, in this game, our chips were down! - one room was so darkly lit that you almost needed a torch to explore it. - some red-herrings were annoying and didn't add to the enjoyment at all...just made you even more frustrated due to the stretches of logic required for the "genuine" clues. - when we ran out of time, we asked the staff member to show us the 'finale' to show us what we could have seen...but even the staff member couldn't get into the final room! Seems that the last bit of tech involved was either extremely difficult to get through (even for staff) or the instructions/ tech doesn't match up or work as designed. So we never actually saw the final puzzle or room...even when the staff member tried to show us! Not good. There are 2 other escape rooms in Guelph. I've only ever been to one other in this city...and sad to say, that one was MUCH more enjoyable. This one had so much potential...but just was not executed well at all. I MAY go back...but I will try others first.

4 of us did the Wizards Tower a few days ago. The rooms are really well decorated. The clues are well thought out and really make you think. We did escape but with less than a minute to spare! One of the best escape rooms I have done. Well worth it.

We went as a family of 6 adults and did the wizards tower. It was the highest end escape room I’ve been to in terms of props, rooms, and clues. It was so immersive and it’s obvious a lot of time and money were invested in the rooms themselves as well as the series of clues. It was super fun and even though we were pretty close we didn’t make it in time. We had to ask for hints too lol. I would definitely recommend this place. I can’t wait do their other rooms!!

Have done many escape rooms before and thought we were pretty good at it... well this place truly humbled us. Attempted the Wizard's Tower room(s). The experience was excellent as were the room designs. Very immersive and challenging. Would love to come back with a larger group and experience their Dungeon Escape.

We were a group of six in The Wizard's Tower. Although six is the recommended number for this escape room, it felt like there wasn't enough to keep us all busy. Talking about the experience afterwards, one of us was bored basically the entire of time, and the rest of us for part of it. That was disappointing after paying $170 for an hour's entertainment. I would think the maximum capacity of 8 would be way too many people for the limited amount of puzzles and things to find in the room. While the premise of the room was good, and the room itself is well presented with some good props, our experience was lessened by the micromanaging that we encountered while there. We were told numerous times to stop putting things on the floor... these weren't breakable things, it was just books. Previous escape rooms we have done have specifically said not to worry about putting things back as this wastes time - to feel free to make a mess. Not here. At one point, an employee actually entered the room, leaving the door wide open to the foyer, and began putting items back away. This was in the middle of our game! The door we were supposed to be figuring out how to open and escape was wide open!! It was extremely awkward, totally unwarranted (we were being very respectful of the room) and really spoiled the experience. We found that after this escape room we spent more time talking about how things could be done differently to improve the room than the experience we had in the room. If this had been our first escape room experience, we likely would not be in a hurry to try another one - not for $170. Another recommendation - hire employees who actually seem to like their job. The girl we dealt with while there never cracked a smile and generally seemed bored with her job and peeved with having to clean up after us.
