It is pleasant in the course of downtown hustle and bustle to have a spot you can appreciate some greenery. Stretching for a couple of city blocks, the black fountain is its central feature, bookended by a statue of Queen Victoria to the west and the Gore Park Veteran's Memorial to the east. Something new to me was Veterans Place. Through various displays it recalls the Canadian contribution to various wars and peacekeeping forces.

Wow - I sure felt like a tourist in my own home town with this one ! Our guests wished to go to the Art Gallery of Hamilton. I am not one who is much into the arts but agreed to take them with the plan to incorporate more sights without having to drive any further ie park the car once and do several things. My put together tour included: 1) parking at Jackson Square 2) went thru the mall to get to the corner of James/King 3) listened to local street talent (who just happened to be someone I know lol) 4) visited a Cafe (Red Church) 5) Visited Gore Park (around the Gore were Veterans monuments and additional musicians playing outside and chairs set up for guests to sit an enjoy; a local hot dog stand and food truck were also near by 6) visited the Art Gallery (AGH) 7) went back thru Jackson square to the infamous Farmer's Market then headed home. The AGH offers price points for seniors and students. I gained a refreshed love for my city and plan to re-visit the downtown core for outdoor music and drinks. If hosting people as I was, this was a thrifty way to spend the day.

The band was awesome but the rain cancelled them out at around 2:00. Got to see them for an hour though.

Right in the downtown along King Street East. Trees and gardens and a number of statues and monuments. Lots of attractive old building fronts too. The fountain is a nice centrepiece. Good spot to stop and watch the hustle and bustle of the city go by.

Gore Park is a nice, clean, small park in downtown Hamilton. Probably the main focal point is the lovely fountain. There were quite a few people milling about and relaxing on a warm Saturday.

I was there for an event this summer. It is relatively a small park in the heart of downtown Hamilton.Good music and a few food trucks. over all god experience. Just make sure you check to confirm that an event is taking place if not you can get history on Sir John Mc Donald and take photos of his statue.

This park is very nice, but pretty busy on a nice day(at least it was when I was there).
The fountain is the main attraction because it is so beautiful. It is also a very peaceful place to come and relax. Or just stare at the water flowing.
Overall,
I like this park and It is very beautiful.

This nice little stretch is right in the heart of downtown Hamilton near Jackson Square. It used to be the area where almost all of the city buses routes originated from until they built a new terminal a few years ago. Now that it isn't crowded so much with bus riders it's much nicer. There are war memorials for those from Hamilton that served in World Wars 1 and 2 and the Korean War. There's also a large fountain which is quite a site in the summer. It is definitely representative of what Hamilton is.

Nice, clean park with lots of green space and plenty of benches. We were there on a recent sunny April day and there were loads of folks out to catch some rays. It's hard to believe you're so close to a major traffic artery. Helps to revitalize the downtown area - just need a few more eating places nearby. This is a perfect spot for a Christmas market.
