We had a great time as a family of 5. I love hanging out with my adult kids and this place is perfect. Snacks and games. Great hot chocolate and lots of games to choose from. You can pick your games by type. They have everything from fun family games to strategy games. We will definitely make this a regular event. Price was not bad at all.

Such a great concept/place. Every board game you can imagine, super friendly staff, and a large variety of food and drink available. I personally recommend the bubble tea. Looking forward to returning again.

This was a very fun outing. William at the cafe was charming. He was very helpful and fun. Great representative for the cafe. Nice atmosphere and tons of games. Lots of food and beverage choices too. Great place!

Great idea for a cafe. Games are categorized, lots of seating, delicious coffee and baked goods, WiFi (phone number no spaces).

What a great place to spend a few hours! Tons of games, clean with great vibe. William and staff were excellent! I'd definitely recommend.

The location is great, tons of restaurants close by. Huge selection of games to choose from and it has everything you want from easy and familiar games to new and more complicated.
A pretty good menu too, from snacks to paninis. Beer, shakes, coffee, pop. A great selection of D and D stuff as well.

My wife and I have been to Mancala Monk twice now and are big fans. The game selection is vast , the staff are friendly and even teach you how to play the games. A great selection of food and drinks tops it all off. Can’t wait for our next visit!

My new husband and I want to say a huge Thank You to Matt for letting us take our wedding photos at his café last week. I'm a huge board game geek and wanted to do something that wasn’t all posing-by-flowers for my wedding photo shoot. Matt was generous enough to let us use his café and board games to include in on our shoot.
I had such an amazing experience here and will definitely share pictures soon.
Now about the café itself, I've been to a lot of board game cafes, and Mancala Monk is simply the coolest one ever!
First of all, there are a lot of games. This is naturally the defining factor of a good board game café. Everything I wanted to play (and then some) can be found on their shelves. The games are in good quality and the cards are in card pockets to keep them in a good state.
Besides, the games, Matt has literally thought of everything to make our game playing experience better. The tables are have the perfect amount of light that is directed over the game space so that we can see what we're doing, but not be blinded by bright lights. The café is neat and tidy and there's plenty of space to move around. He's got food, snacks and treats, along with a fully functioning café with craft beer to keep players "hydrated" :D I wish I didn't live so far away and could come more often!

Awesome board game café in Hamilton. A fun community if you’re there to play Dungeons and Dragons, but they’ll happily leave you to your own if you want to grab one of their hundred(s?) of board games and sit elsewhere in the store! Milkshakes are to die for, as are their baked goods, and its hard to go wrong with their sandwiches too!

It is a great place to go play board games, they have a big selection and the staff members will help you figure out how to play a game (if it is not too busy), they are very friendly and kind. Also, it helps a lot that they sell snacks, drinks and beer. But most importantly they give you free water to drink while you play.
It has a limit of 3 hours, but only when it is busy, otherwise, you can stay for as long as you want. For busy days, so weekends, try to make a reservation because it might be hard to find an available table.
