This new park is located just minutes away from one of the busiest streets on Hamilton mountain. The large park was set aside by the city to provide a multi use recreational area in the neighbourhood. It contains two playground areas for kids, a splash pad, tennis courts, football field and soccer pitches. Several walking trails are found in the park, some paved, some not. There is a large pond that is the central feature of the park that has become inhabited by some ducks and geese. There is a change house and washrooms and a fair bit of parking available off West 5th Street.

The only problem that have surfaced are complaints that some people are using motorized dirt bikes on the walking trails which poses a hazard to people who are just out walking. Other than this, it is a perfect park for all people.

This park is just a few minutes away from my home and opened in August but I haven't been home much since it opened to check it out and I finally went for the first time. It was a bit of foggy day and the park wasn't busy but it is a nice park. There's nice sports facilities, a tennis court, soccer fields, a Canadian Football field and basketball court. There's nice biking and hiking trails.

The park is deceptively large, it doesn't look as big from on the street. There a large splash pad for kids in the summer and two sets of playground equipment. There's a pavilion with handicap accessible public washrooms. The highlight of the park however is the big man-made pond. It's big enough that one could paddle around in a canoe or kayak. I wouldn't recommend fishing because there are no fish. The water level does rise when it rains because it's a storm pond, the entire area drains into the pond, so that part can be dangerous in stormy weather and there are signs up to state that.

Kudos to the City of Hamilton though on building perhaps the best park on the escarpment.
