Pretty cool to see all the animals. Also a large "zoo like" area to walk around and shows to see.
We visited this place to see the animals. However this is a pretty amazing swim/water area for little kids. And it's really focused for the under 8 group. We did the drive through with our own vehicle, which we really liked as you were not crammed in with 40 others and could move at your own pace. The animals were pretty cool to see. Our kids (10 and 6) really enjoyed them. There is also a large walk around (zoo like) are to this property with lots of birds and some other animals as well. They have "shows" also that last about 20 minutes each that are back to back to back so it's kinds of nice to get them all in, in a row. The little "ride-on" train is kind of cheezy. Basically they glorified a large pond and swamp area by putting a train track around it. And the same for the pontoon rides. All in all, a good experience and would recommend if you like animals. And if you like water/swim area and have under 8 yr olds.... a great time could be had for sure. You can also bring in your own foods/drinks so that is a huge money saver in itself.

Real Africa in Canada !! Awesome experience even too small scale 👍
After watching all wildlife documentaries such as Serengeti, it was time to meet the inhabitants!. They seemed well fed, well cared and not "cramped".Especially the blond lions (I heard they are not albinos, just different genes!) were awesome to watch.Although I don't drive and had to take the safari bus (and boat later on) it has been a great experience, and to me, an arachnophobe and heat hater, best way to be kinda close to my beloved big cats. Not only that, lot's of interesting primates and ungulates have been around to greet you including some energetic giraffes and sleepy rhinos😄 Too pity it is being seen as "kiddy entertainment" (so are the souvenirs i gift shops 😒), However, it is definitely a great experience for wildlife loving adults. Africa in Canada that is. A quite interesting "must-see"!👍 Please find the video on Youtube !

    Great dislpay of Animals
Our Family visited here on a beautiful Summer's Day. We were fortunate to see a Young Lion Couple mating. We also saw 3 Tigers at the fence imagining eating the Gazelles on the other side. You definetly want to take the tour bus. We saw the Monkeys damage a few cars ahead of our Bus.

Ok. So a friend and I decided on whim to visit African Lion Safari a Saturday afternoon. We got there lunchtime and there was a lil bit of a line up. In total 3 hrs is more than enough time to spend there if you’re not doing the splash pad.

Admission: $49.99 plus tax

Parking: free

Lunch (2 burger meals with commemorative mug with unlimited drink refills: $57.00

Splash pad: free

Train ride: free

Boat ride: free

The bus tour (as opposed to using your own vehicle): $6 there about

Pros:
- There was something To do for all ages
- lots of places to refill your cups and purchase snacks
- many different food options
- FOOD ALLERGY PPL - they have a manifest of all their food items that you can look at their ingredients
- numerous shows
- large splash pad

Cons:
- it’s great buying their commemorative cups with free refills, however you can’t go on any of the rides (train, boat, bus) with any liquids inside so we had to keep dumping them out and refilling afterwards
- you actually don’t see much animals unless you go on the safari. Birds, elephants, and monkeys are what you’re able to see
- safari bus super cold. AC on super max bring a sweater

I never get tired to visit any zoo around the world and this location reminds me of a similar location just outside San Diego:

- we booked the tickets on the same Friday morning we visited (as we wanted to avoid crowds and with one week before they close on 8th of Oct) thankfully there were not many kids around as I have been told is the case in summer time:
- entry of 36 CAD plus tax per person (check their site for discounts and infant related advice) if booked online (we printed the pages to show at the entrance in case there will be problems with our phones) with parking included
- 5.25 CAD/person if you want to access the Safari bus (paid to the same person we showed our tickets) which I highly recommend if you want to see lions, hippos, giraffes, gibbons, zebras etc organised according to the part of the world they come from and whether they are herbivores or not!!!
- even so, after visiting the park we decided to visit once again this area by going with our car, avoiding the gibbons (check the signs) due to being the most destructives when it suits them while targeting car antennas, mirrors etc!!!
- free of charge African queen Boat cruise promising to see lots of primates: we saw only 2 types and the duration was around 15min
- free of charge Scenic railways which took only 10 min and saw mainly ducks we had in our back garden in USA while seeing in the distance the elephant enclosure area which you can access also by walking - check their free maps
- free of charge Birds of prey flying demonstration, we saw only the end of it as they had only 2 birds
- free of charge Pets' corner and Parrot paradise are located near each other, however you cannot touch the pets (the way you do at London or San Diego zoos or similar ones around the world) and the big parrots are located in enclosures some 10 metres away from you (Miami zoo has parrots you can touch; so many are trying to escape from their enclosures by digging in the ground - just too hilarious). Lots of owls and other birds of prey also located in their enclosures, some more interested in humans than others: bigger the brain, higher the level of intelligence, right?
- lots of places for kids to scream as much as they can in topogans etc
- reduced eating locations except the massive Mombasa market restaurant inside a building where you can have pizza, burgers etc and icecreams, drinks etc) Large toilets located here besides more around the park

I assume some of these locations might not be functioning the way one would expect due to being late September, hence I would strongly recommend to check their online info (or as you arrive) for demonstrations/train/boat timing etc

I went here when I was a kid and the safari experience is about 40 % of what I remember

I assume this place is getting pressure from animal activist ..

But for my 1 year old and 3 year
These animals are exiting

If you go on a rainy day
Or it’s to mild to use the splash bad

Not worth it

We lucked out

It was a plus 30 day

One suggestion
Buy a bucket of chicken and picnic vs buying the food

Oh and for a park
The washroom weee relatively clean

It's. Total waste of money.
We came with the family of 30 people. We were not honor group pricing discount.
Even it's totally waste of money.
Please goto zoo but never go to this safari.

Fantastic experience.

We decided to get the bus around it as we heard stories about cars being damaged. However, after going through it, I would take the risk to drive around it myself if I was doing it again. You would have to be very unfortunate for your car to be damage, but not to say it cannot be done.

The keepers really makes an effort to keep the animals moving, they had vehicles driving around the animals and overall a friendly bunch of people.

I took away one star, as there was long traffic Jams, especially at areas like the lions. Also, there was kids screaming the whole way through the bus tour. To add, you pay almost 50 bucks to get in the gate, and then have to pay additional money to go on the bus, I think the bus should of been free to anyone who wanted to use it.

Overall, really enjoyed it. Ps. We were all adults. I say say kids would love it too :)

Have not been here in many years and was thoroughly impressed. Reasonable pricing, lots of animals. Nice to see many Ranger vehicles keeping an eye on the moving vehicles to insure safety of all. Adults and a 12 year old really enjoyed all of the experience.
