Once Werx and the Royal Windsor closed down, the owners of the Embassy ( a straight Italian married couple ) decided they didn't have to worry over competition, so they just stopped putting money into the place. The main floor and upper mezzanine were closed Sunday till Wednesday, and the basement where they expected everybody to hang out had issues with the weeping system and the plumbing, so everytime it rained the place would flood. It was dank, dark and dirty down there, and in no good way, There was black mould throughout, and the whole place stunk like raw sewage. Just before the globalist plandemic, the owner decided that the repairs he'd been ignoring for years, were now at a cost more than he was willing to pay out, so he tried to burn the place down by throwing Molotovs through the back alley window, trying to scam himself a windfall payout from his insurance company. It didn't work. It seems said window was slightly farther up and further in that he'd reckoned. Of the 3 bottles thrown 2 smashed on the 2nd story patio, and the third which made it through the window didn't do much as the place was once the Bank of Montreal, constructed in the late 1800s, so everything inside was polished stone and terrazzo, which does not burn. So The Embassy has been gone for almost 5 years at this point, Angelo went to prison and had to borrow money from the mob to pay the fines. Now, there is zero LGBT nightlife in Hamilton whatsoever, outside house partys and BBQs.

The Embassy Night Club is the only LGBTQ bar in Hamilton. With this being said, it attracts many different people from all over. It gets a decent amount of business which makes it unfortunate to see that no changes are ever made to the building. It is extremely run down and seems as though the money it brings in is definitely not being put back into the appearance. Because of this, I often hear bad things about The Embassy. On the other hand, it is a safe space for everyone and is generally a fun time for all, despite it's run-down looks. If you are thinking about going - remember to bring some money for cover fees ($5-$10) and keep in mind that there is NO FOOD served here.

A great friend was organising a New Year event and was promised the use of the main and upper floors. On the afternoon just before the event she was told that these floors were no longer available. This was a really terrible thing to do by the owner and the reputation of this establishment has plummeted.
