We golfed here October 14, 2023, in the afternoon… plenty of close parking, no stress while on the course, enjoyed their huge sausages for lunch. Checking in was easy. Staff were professional.

Greens were a little bumpy during our visit, but could be time of year. Fairways were nice.

Might return if in the area, but wouldn’t drive 2 hours to play here.

Worst experience I have had at a Golf Course.
Paid for 18, after playing 9, there was thunder and lightning.
The Pro shop talked to the owner and I was then offered $ 5.00
for a Rain Check . I was then told to check the weather before I come.

1- It did not rain. Every golfer after your group completed 18 holes. For a rain check it has to be raining not just a forecast of rain. The forecast is rarely correct. 2- Our 9 hole rate for walking is $30.00 as posted on our website and at the pro shop. You walked the front 9. If we had given you a rain check for 9 holes that would have meant you only paid $5.00 for the 9 holes you did play. How could that be acceptable? Our 18 hole walking rate is $35.00 which is a great price.

We were immediately given a hard time for wearing sweaters or rain jackets instead of collared shirts. Our group of 5 was kicked out at the 8th green because it took 3 hours to play. The recommended time for the front 9 is 2.5 hours with a group of 4. We were 5 including 2 newer players. Not only did we not get what we paid for the staff was downright rude in how he approached and kicked us out. There were no groups behind us, the Marshall was just miserable and wanted to leave early. I will NEVER return. I will spend my time and money at the nearby Lyndway Hills where the staff have always been courteous

I’m giving this course a two because it is beautifully maintained. Otherwise it would receive a zero!! Friends of ours drove 4 hrs to have a relaxing weekend camping and we decided to try this course due to the positive reviews. We had a great time until the 8th hole. The Marshall approached us and stated that we were slowing everyone down and needed to pick up the pace. ( he was very rude and abrupt) Of note, there WERE people in front of us and NO ONE behind us waiting. We were playing best ball and under par. Well within the 2 hrs suggested for the front 9. The Marshall then proceeded to sit there watching us, and had a smoke. He was asked politely if he could move on as myself and my other female friend were uncomfortable with him watching. He left and carried on. Once at the 9th hole we saw him hiding between trees watching us. This incident was brought forth to the pro shop where nothing was done and we were essentially blamed as being slow. Again, we were on par, never had anyone waiting and we’ll within the 2 hrs. The women we spoke to was rude and simply stated “ we just shouldn’t let 9 holers tee off in the morning then. We could have made more money for someone else to play 18 holes.” We did absolutely nothing wrong on this course, paid a lot of money to golf there and we’re treated like non valued customers. So thank you for your arrogance, unprofessionalism, poor service and for ruining the day for 4 military veterans who find peace and solitude on a golf course.
This was their response to my review above..

It is unfortunate that you chose to book your tee time at the busiest time of day. Please try to appreciate what the marshal attempts to do : keep the pace of play acceptable, minimize the intimidation some might feel by his presence by sitting off to the side, and where possible in a safe and inconspicuous area. With regards to your comment on no one in front of you or behind you, the group in front played the front 9 in one hour forty minutes. The group behind you could hit the ball over 300 yards so they were leaving a safe distance between you and it was backed up behind them. Morning golfers generally play a fast round. We do hope your golfing experience at a different course is more pleasant.
Sooo apparently they are accepting of Marshall’s harassing paring customers and it was my fault for booking in the morning. My advice… DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

A huge thank you to Tana, Janie, Lee, Mark, Brooke & Cole along with the rest of the staff who helped make our daughter's wedding so special. We had so many people comment on how impressed they were with the venue as a whole. The rustic barn is an absolutely perfect place for the ceremony (even in 29C heat in May!). We loved that you could then walk over to the beautiful ballroom for the dinner & reception. Tana once again outdid herself with the food - it was exceptional! The service was excellent, professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend this venue for any event, especially a wedding. Thank you all for helping to make Colleen & Adam's wedding perfect!! Chuck & Marianne McGuire
PS - the golf course looked in perfect condition! Can't wait to get out for a round.

While the layout of this course is not to difficult to play, it is the turtle back greens which increase the difficulty. The owners of this family run business make every effort to ensure that even when the course has been affected by adverse weather conditions that the course is playable and in good shape. If you are going there for the first time and plan on walking the course, be prepared to play in 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 hours. While the course is rated for 4 1/4 hours play time, players using carts have a tendency to push your play. Overall though, if you just want to play a quick game and a relaxing game is not your thing, the Colonnade will serve you well.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. We have great staff and put a lot of time and effort into keeping the course in great shape. Our home style cooking seems to go over well also.

The nicest 18 hole golf course around Kingston.
The best most challenging greens and contoured fairways.
Big driving range and very friendly staff.

Good course lousy public relations.
Make sure you do not play slow because they penalize without any warning and make you skip 2 holes

When spoke to pro shop young man in red shirt , he was disinterested and when I said we came here the last 2 yrs and was rethinking about coming for 3rd. His response "we will do fine without you". Nice to know, will spend my money golfing elsewhere. Plenty of courses who like to do business and are pleasant.

Very sad to be writing this review as our last 2 visits were great staff was welcoming and courteous. Management needs to review some of the current staff practices.

Thank you for stating your past experiences at the Colonnade were great. It is unfortunate that because your friends (two inexperienced golfers) in your group caused you to be 3 holes behind the 4 ladies ahead of you . We moved you 1 1/2 holes ahead attempting to solved the major backup the full field of golfers were experiencing behind you. We even gave you four free alcoholic drinks to thank you for moving. Sorry for disrupting your day. Have a great summer.

We were married at the Colonnade on May 18,2019. From the moment we went to check out the venue to our wedding day, Tana and the staff were always so friendly and helpful. With the amount of experience and care that Tana has she was able to give us advice every step of the way and was always around in case we needed anything along the way.

The banquet hall has to be one of the nicest venues to have a reception for anything. We had a company from Oshawa assist us with some of our finishing touches in regards to decorating and they said that the venue was one of the nicest they have been in as well. Even without us adding these unique touches to the venue for our day it was amazing.

The food at the Colonnade is known to be good...and it did not disappoint anyone! The roast beef was amazing and the seasoned chicken was fantastic! We had a lot of people and we all love food and Tana made sure we had more than enough and the service from the bar to the entire dinner and dance was first class.

We would definitely recommend the Colonnade for any special occasion you have big or small! The food, the people and most of all the experience they have with hosting weddings is excellent! We cannot thank Tana and the team enough about how special and smooth they made our special day!

Huge thank you again to Tana and the entire team.
