It is a pleasure to see all the old buildings that have been preserved and definitely enjoy the History behind them.

Kingston, Ontario was slated to be the Capital of this Country; when dubious minds made change and brought Ottawa on board due to safety considerations from our neighbors. This historic refuge screams intrigue and the chance of a life time to discover a knowledge that is second to none. Visit the old headquarters of the KKK and homes that brandishes 'Slave Quarters' for Blacks. Kingston boast a history that is second to none and an honesty and truth that captivates a distant past. Our present reflects a past not far gone and a future that brandishes a disjointed past. The views or our shorelines are the best you will see with opportunities for fishing and hunting too. A land so beautiful engulfed by water with a vision of tranquility that you may never want to leave.

A super pub with lots of great food..large portions for good value. Service is excellent and staff very friendly. There is a history here of Sir John A Macdonald, Canada's first Prime Minister. I believe it was his law office at one time. Kingston is full of History and a great city to visit. I came in 1969 and never left. Proud to call it home.

The entire troupe was fantastic. They had us laughing throughout the whole show, plus we learned a lot along the way.

What a talented troupe! Amazed and inspired at the innovation and creativity of this presentation. They packed a lot of historical information into a constantly moving, always entertaining show that never became dry or uninteresting. Each actor took on dozens of different personalities effortlessly (at least it seemed that way) and always kept the audience engaged. Looking forward to their next project!

I have read many of the reviews and they all said it all - this is an outstandingly talented group of young people who clearly love what they do, and do a super job! (Hannah's
expressions are hilarious).
What a fun way to see Sir John - don't miss it!

Grandpa: So Chloe, what did you think about the play? Chloe(12) : It was awesome! Grandpa: And you Abby, did you like it? Abby (13): I LOVED it! And there you have two thumbs up from the younger generation. I took my two grand-daughters to see this excellent production, and as you see they thought it was wonderful. What a clever way to teach Canadian History in music, song and dialogue. We talked about it all the way home and for quite a while after. I myself was moved to tears by the Louis Riel segment which included a song which was so haunting, sung in such a pure voice, that I think I must go back again if only for that. I highly recommend this show for all ages.

These players have talent. Their original witty take on our first prime minister resonates with the audience. If you like clever dialogue, catchy songs, quick change presentation in the tradition of street theatre, make sure you see this.

Hello. I thought that this tour ended in 2015. Were you on a self guided version of it or is the troop back?

Yes, indeed I was on a self guided version because I had a copy of the tour map. Not hard to find and better when you do it by yourself - at your own speed - and not have to listen to silly questions. It would help if you know something about Sir. John.

You can get tickets for the In Sir John A's Footsteps show online on SALON Theatre's website (just google SALON Theatre, as we are not allowed to include website links in these responses). The show runs at 11 am and 2 pm from Wednesday until Sunday. This is the last week though, as the show is finished on September 27th.
Depending on when you are coming to Kingston, we have another show as well called "Hidden From View" that runs at Bellevue House Oct 9-12. There are more details on our same website for how you can make reservations and for times.
Please feel free to call us at 613-767-8178 as well if you need any more information, or you can email us through the website as well.
I hope that helps!
