The waterfront is beautiful. Tons of shops and places to eat. An abundance of benches and muskoka chairs where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the view. During our visit, the city was hosting a blues concert that was free and was enjoyable even though the weather that day was less than ideal. Other cities should take note....this is how it's done!

We took in the beautiful waterfront and enjoyed seeing all of the amazing boats that were here for the "Poker Run" boat races on Lake Ontario. The weekend also included Princess St. being closed for the Princess Street Promenade Saturday, where vendors were on the street, along with musicians and lots of people.

This vibrant, bustling waterfront was clearly meant to be enjoyed. Packed with shops, restaurants, and local sellers there’s a lot to see and do. From exploring the steam engine, to being the “I” in Kingston, getting your caricatures done, enjoying the fountain, or listening to local talent, there’s something for everyone here.

The waterfront and all the nice, small shops and restaurant are a nice eco-system, in which you can find many families, couples, tourists,...

Lots to see. Beautiful nature and ample space to people watch. Very relaxing! Rondout area is cute with shops and sitting areas, for the men in your life, that dont want to explore the shops. Lots of art and culture to explore as well.

We were impressed with how clean the waterfront and trail is. A nice safe walk. Fun to see people swimming and jumping off the dock at the swimming area.

Although broken into many different pieces, a good portion of the waterfront has paved paths for walking - with stunning views. A must for any visitor.

Beautiful scenery, the best place for picture or just relax next to the water and watch the boats selling away. The kids can run and play at the water fountain while you enjoy some time for yourself.

We stayed at Residence Inn Kingston and had a view of the harbor and waterfront from our hotel room. On our first night, we took a casual after-dinner stroll along the waterfront, specifically Battery Park, which was just steps from the hotel entrance. Saw people relaxing on red Muskoka chairs overlooking St Lawrence River or just sitting on the stone landscaping. Here, we also read about the city's plans to construct a promenade on the existing breakwall in 2023. The next two mornings, we walked along the harbor and followed the waterfront pathway under Delta Hotel Kingston to reach the marina, Confederation Park and Kingston 3D sign. The waterfront pathway is definitely a more scenic, convenient and pedestrian-friendly alternative to busy Ontario St.

This is a worthwhile place to put you feet up. You can lay in the grass or enjoy an Adirondack chair graciously provided by the city. It is an historic site with some interesting and informative panels explaining key aspects of Kingston's past.

Not sure if there are bike paths but believe there is. I know there are some along the park on the lake downtown.

Hi. I've been looking at the options for lunch and dinner while we visit this city for one day in July. It seems like there's only breweries but not real restaurants. Can you recommend any places that have menus other than bar food? THX!

Wednesday nights Fort Henry does a sunset ceremony, the market square always has stuff going on; markets, bands, movies(bring your own chairs). There's also the trolley tours of Kingston. K-passes are great to purchase they include a cruise ride of the 1000 Islands and the hop on/off trolley tour (includes admission to some locations) King Penn tour is fantastic but book ahead for that, they sell out quick! Otherwise walking around the city is fun too. Lots of shops and patios to visit.
