The only reason we went to the Movieland Wax Museum was because it was included in our Clifton Hill pass and it was unbelievably bad! The majority of the wax statues are of celebrities or depict movie scenes that would be unfamiliar to most visitors. I took pictures only because I know family would never believe how bad these wax impressions were with proof!
I am sure most people in the museum under 30 and under cared about the Fatal Attraction scene with Michael Douglass and Glenn Close, or the horrible depiction of the Blue Brothers. Some of these statues were only identifiable because they had signs. Clothes were falling off, wigs were not on straight, and terrible representations of nearly every celebrity.
Would definitely not go back and now question the quality of the other nearby wax museums.

I am a big fan of wax museums, & the worse the models are the more I love them - enter, Movieland. This museum genuinely has some of the worst representations of the human form ever produced, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. It can't be anything other than ironic, I really believe they know their reputation and are embracing it, because who on Earth would have created some of those gems & genuinely thought they were incredible 😂 There are some new superhero models and they're very very good & lifelike, so either they have a new supplier or new artist, but I was able to date back from the ropey Anne Hathaway Catwoman to say that anything pre-2012 is where the fun begins.
The set design & sound effects are really well done and make it a fun place to walk around. It is very well themed around the alleged characters they claim are being represented, and personally there was no end to my enjoyment of what I would discover at each turned corner. If you race around barely glancing at anything other than the faces you really miss the full effect - stay still and pay attention to the details more for full appreciation of the work and humour that has clearly gone into this place. A lot of the movies represented were from my childhood/youth, & it just reminded me of the exquisite naffery we paraded round in the 90s, everything was a bit more janky & fun and there was more joy in the daftness of it; I think people have forgotten to appreciate things that are a little haphazard and unconventional, but personally I found it really nostalgic and a good reminder of simpler times 😊
For the most part you can see the vague outline of who it's meant to be, like trying to catch a whisper in a strong breeze, but mostly they look like what you would produce if you tried to draw a celebrity from memory in the dark whilst asleep.
A few were genuinely good, poor Shania Twain has totally lost her head, Lisa Simpson's hair made me want to vomit, and Jim Carrey's Ace Ventura alone was a better spectacle than the falls.
Go here, it has earned its reputation well for better or worse, but if you're a fun person with a sense of humour and irony you'll be delighted!

This place hasn't changed in years. The wax figures are absolutely dreadful. No likeness at all. Been a few times but only because it's included in the Clifton Hill pass. They need to vacuum the entire place. Lint and garbage all over the carpet. Just dirty. We laughed the entire time. Not because they were good.. but because the figures were horrible.

My 8 year old was begging to go in so we did. Took us about maybe 25 minutes to walk through - you can definitely stretch it more. Covers a wide range of movies/TV shows. There was a "horror" area (dark cave area) and when you got to the end I am pretty sure it was the demogorgans from Stranger Things. Walking in there was a small jump scare for me but otherwise it's not too bad. Neither of my kids wanted to go in it. It was cute, made my kids happy.

This was a great museum to visit for movie and music fans. Lots of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, George Clooney, Meryl Streep and others. Movie sets like Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and many others. Fun and intriguing

It was ok....but I’d been many years ago and not much changed.
Best part was the scary section...which to be honest was better than going round that Frankenstein house at the top of the hill.
Some models looked more like them when I took my glasses off and squinted.
Better than going to the Guinness records too...

Went through this wax museum again as it was part of the Adventure pack.. and yet again, it is still just Ok. Most of the figures are not realistic at all. Also, I am not a huge fan of wax museums at all. They are kinda creepy. One person in my party had not been to this attraction and thought that it was "ok"

A bit overpriced and is showing some wear and tear, but it's still a relatively decent way to pass an hour. Settings and costumes look good and are interesting to walk through but the bulk of the figures don't look very similar to their counterparts. Cheaper than the other nearby museum. Some of the best and most up to date are at the end.

Goodness... this was so cheesy and the wax figures are laughable... but the displays are great. I was impressed with the props and the set ups. It was fun to walk through and see the wax people, even if it was to just laugh at what they looked at. As long as you don't have high expectations of a nice wax museum. But it was fun. We got a lot of laughs.

Okay, so set your expectations low and you'll have a great time. Worst wax figures of all time, but so much fun. Takes quite a bit of time to get through all the displays. Fun time.

$10.99+tax for adults and $6.99+tax for children. It's part of our 6-attraction Clifton Hill Fun Pass though which is $29.95+tax for adults and $19.95+tax for children. Also included is the Niagara SkyWheel (x2 if you buy online), Dinosaur Adventure Golf or Wizards Golf, Wild West Coaster, Zombie Attack Ride, Ghost Blasters Dark Ride and a bonus of 5 Midway tokens. That's the best deal to get.

the cliftonhill . com website also has a link to a page which details the opening of all Clifton Hill attractions for the current week. I'm not sure it's 100% accurate but it should give you a good guide
