Been here few times in the Summer. But first time in the winter. Still Majestic and scary up close. Wher is all the water coming. Origination from the Canadian rockies traversing through lakes in US and reentering into Canada enroute the Atlantic. Neverthless great view upclose without the crowd

An all day excursion to the Niagara Falls - another place on my bucket list.
The Falls and its environs are truly amazing and one of the Wonders of the World that no one should miss.

We had such a relaxing time visiting Niagara Falls; we visited the Bird Kingdom, Skylon Tower and had dinner there as well. The falls is such a beautiful site to behold from the Skylon Tower! Highly recommend visiting.

Visited over 20 years ago and went for the walk behind the falls which was great. This time queued up for the Hornblower boat ( Canada Side). If booking in advance on line make sure you pick the right boat. On the US side the boat is called the Maid of the Mist. You go quite close to the falls and get drenched in spray so avoid wearing trousers and go with shorts if the weather permits, as the plastic ponchos do not cover your lower legs. Take photos when you are not too close to the falls as when you get close it is a no go. Its is magnificent and the power of the water from the Horseshoe Falls is impressive. Both of the towns are touristy and low brow so if you want to stay on the Niagara peninsular stay at Niagara on the Lake

I think that this is something that everyone should experience at least once in their life. I, personally favour the Horseshoe Falls as having more visual impact, but the American and Bridal Falls are also very nice.
You should make the visit both during the day and then again at night, when the cascades are illuminated and there are fireworks shows.
Two things to keep in mind.
Niagara Falls is very crowded in the summer, especially the sidewalk leading to the falls and people tend to be very focussed on taking pictures. You may have to dodge people walking backwards as they compose their picture and you should try not to foul their composition.
The other thing is that an amazing number of people don't pay attention to the warnings and climb up on the walls and hang over the railings. If someone falls in, the river doesn't care that it was because of the quest for the ultimate selfie.

I expect things to be a bit expensive and touristy in a location like this but this was over the top. Stayed at the Embassy Suites 18 floor. The view was exquisite which is why this did not get a 2-star. I booked the room off-season (winter) at a great rate ($140 a night). When we pulled up to valet they said valet was $140 a night. I thought they were telling me the room rate. Self-park was $90 and off-site was $45. We decided to walk to the falls as it was basically right there and so was the main attraction hub. We crossed a bridge and saw what looked like a ride of some sort. It costs $24. The main attraction site next to the falls was 30 feet or so down the slope. I asked and the operator said, yes this takes you right to the falls. I thought to myself wow, it probably goes down to the bottom right near the falls or something. We paid got on and it started down, 30 seconds later the door opens and we were told to get off..... Basically, it went 20 feet down the slope to the attraction center.lol. I asked and was told it was a 25-minute walk if we wanted to walk down the slope to the activities center, what a trap. At the center, it was as expected expensive but very well kept. Every attraction dumped you into a gift shop. They took a page right out of Disney's playbook except for one thing. All the attractions were bad and not well maintained. that night we went to the local Outback for a meal. OMG, the $17.99 outback special we have all the time was $55, not right?

Clean. Great views. Fireworks were great addition. Plenty of restaurants but parking is rough in the entire area.

We just went along the NF parkway and saw the lights display and the falls. It was raining so we didn't actually get out of the car and stand over the falls but we did get a good view of both the US and Canadian falls. We also drove up and down Clifton hil which was packed with vistors

Spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. I would recommend seeing from the Canadian side, do both sides by crossing the rainbow bridge.

How would I get to St. Catharines from Niagara Falls and then back on public transportation?
I am planning a trip to Niagara Falls for the summer. I would be coming from the US side, so would be able to walk across the Rainbow Bridge to get into Canada. I saw that the #40 and #50 buses go between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, but-
1. Can I pay with cash (I'm sure I can find somewhere to convert USD to CAD) or do I need a specific card?
2. How do I get from the bridge and from the Falls themselves to the Niagara Falls bus station without a car? On Google, it looked like it was a 15 minute drive away.
3. Similarly, where I want to go in St. Catharines is not right next to the bus station there; would my regular Uber or Lyft app that I use when I'm in the US still work when I'm in Canada?

Planning a bachelorette in the Niagra region the first weekend in June. Wondering if there are any suggested activities? Also what is the taxi/uber situation like?

There are several wineries in the area. Your group may enjoy wine tasting at one or several wineries.

That's not alot of time. Minimum two hours return by cab or Uber. If traffic is bad, your screwed.
Go to cn tower instead.

Depending on how you want to see it - the boat ride, I believe it was the Maid of the Mist takes you up to both falls. Waterproofs are provided for your trip. If you prefer to see from above there's always the helicopter ride. Both trips you have a great chance for wonderful photography.
