- nicole_chelliNew Haven, Connecticut728 contributionsWine tasting with a beautiful buildingWe were looking for vineyards just to have a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery, however we learned due to Ontario laws, most places only offer wine tastings which we did. For $20 you get to choose 4 glasses of wine to taste. Our server did not catch his name but the staff there was very friendly. He served us our whites first to try and after we finished those, served us the reds. The building is beautiful, would be a beautiful place for a wedding venue. From our seats we could catch a glimpse of the vineyard with grapes growing on the vines. Unfortunately, it was raining the day we came so did not get to enjoy much of the vineyard from the outside. They also offered food options.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 15, 2023
- Brittany HoulihanToronto, Canada4 contributionsGreat time with JakeWent here for some wine with friends. Jake, our server, was amazing and for sure made our experience a great one. He is new but has a wealth of knowledge and genuinely seemed excited to help us with wine selections and answer our questions. If you are lucky enough to interact with him then rest assured are in good hands.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 24, 2023

- Michel T2 contributionsIf you must choose a few, the Hare must be one!The Hare might just be the best kept secret in the area!!! Unlike some other wineries, they are not pompous nor pretentious. The place is amazingly prepared to give the rustic, wine producing ambiance while still providing the sense of chic that you are looking for. Vlad was just so amazing at explaining everything from the winery to the different wines they offer and their pairings. Their charcuterie boards are generous and delicious, perfectly selected to combine with each wine. Simply a delightful experience!!! A real value for your money and a MUST!Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 31, 2023

For $30 per person we had 4 wine samples. 3 of the samples were paired with a small bite to enhance the flavours of the wine. We enjoyed our VIP experience in a private room with an excellent host. Of the 4 hosts telling us about the wine/winery/pairings, this man who was witty & articulate could be on TV. I wish I could acknowledge him by name. If it helps his employer, he said “put a pin in it” (for discussion later). He was very entertaining & the area very beautiful. Everything was perfect.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten May 18, 2024
- Amaya D1 contributionElevated Tasting with VladimirWent to the winery on Wednesday and did an elevated tasted experience with Vladimir. He was so knowledgeable! Told us all about the different glassware and the techniques that went into making the wines we tried. We loved the sparkling rosé and the Jack Rabbit Red. The food was good, nice small bites to complement our wine. Would definitely visit again.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten May 24, 2024

- MissyTravellorToronto, Canada187 contributionsBeautiful atmosphereI attended my friend's wedding here, which was about a 1.5-hour drive from where I live, but it was absolutely worth it. The beautiful winery features an outdoor dining area and there was vineyards behind the buildings. While I don't know much about wines, i only had wine wines and they were excellent. The winery also offers great spots for photos and has a lovely atmosphere.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten August 4, 2024

We came for a wine tasting and were lucky enough to learn and taste with Vlad. He was well informed and taught us a lot about wine and grapes! Thank you! I was also really impressed with the beautiful building made with repurposed materials!

We were a group of five celebrating my daughter's 27th birthday. Stopping at the Hare Wine Co was the best decision of the day. The reception lady got us to a tasting table quite quickly but it all seemed a bit confusing as how to sample the wines and then Jeremy came along! His knowledge of the wines and the history of the vineyard were exceptional. He guided us through tasting all the wines and based on his friendly personality I decided to spend the extra $10 to taste their most special wine - it did not disappoint and I have brought a bottle home to have on a special occasion
Thank you Hare Wine Co. and especially Jeremy for making our day fantastic.

Tastings are by appointment only, which has it's advantages as you are not fighting for a space at the tasting bar, and you have a more interesting and educational experience. We enjoyed a glass of wine and the charcuterie board on the patio following our tasting. Very affordable and delicious wines, which we bought more of than originally intended. Our only regret was not checking our receipt until we got home, and we discovered that we had tipped on the total purchase (wine and lunch), so the young lady got a $45 tip! Not that the service wasn't good, but it's something to watch out for in the future!

The Hare Winery was the first stop on our planned day of touring wineries in the Niagara region. We wound up staying for almost 2 hours because the experience was so fantastic. Instead of standing at a bar and having someone pour wine and give you a 10 second blurb about it you asked to take a set at any of their tables, they then came to you. They describe each wine on the list in detail to help you make your tasting selections. After you decide which ones you want to sample, they bring one bottle at a time to the table and explain each in more detail before pouring your tasting sample. After you have sampled the wine, they then discuss what you liked or did not about it. They do not rush you they want you to enjoy the experience along with their wonderful wines. The Hare White Blend was a pleasant surprise, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Silver Noble Melot is! It was truly a wonder experience and we would like to thank Eddy the General Manager for his outstanding hospitality!

Andrea was our server at The Hare for our wine tastings. She was very friendly and took her time to explain everything to us and have a genuine interaction with us. She is definitely a asset to the winery helping put a smile on everyone’s face. Andrea was great, the wine was good too.

We went here 2 days ago and we were very impressed by this winery. It was very welcoming and personable. Mr. Hare took the time to chat with us about how wine is made and the operations of a vineyard. Very interesting. The wine was delicious and we loved the labels too. We will be back.

Does the bike path along 55 go as far as this winery? And is the patio (and pizza) open the entire month of September?
Written July 18, 2019
No, it doesn't - finishes at Gretzky's about a couple of kms away however, there is a good space outside the white line. More difficult might be crossing 55.
No idea about Sept.
