Enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting at The Hare Wine Co. lucky to have Charlie as our server! He sang Happy Birthday to me in the most beautiful Baritone voice ❤️ and was a barrel of laughs to boot!

Tastings are by appointment only, which has it's advantages as you are not fighting for a space at the tasting bar, and you have a more interesting and educational experience. We enjoyed a glass of wine and the charcuterie board on the patio following our tasting. Very affordable and delicious wines, which we bought more of than originally intended. Our only regret was not checking our receipt until we got home, and we discovered that we had tipped on the total purchase (wine and lunch), so the young lady got a $45 tip! Not that the service wasn't good, but it's something to watch out for in the future!

My husband and I had a great tasting with Charlie. He made us laugh the entire time! If you are in the area, stop in and ask for Charlie. You won't be disappointed.

The Hare Winery was great. Thanks to Maureen. She was engaging and made our experience very enjoyable. The building is made from reclaimed brick and has a beautiful feel about it. I’m not sure if they do weddings or functions but the courtyard would be a great place for them.
Now for the wines. Delicious! They have a special touch that accompanied our wines, a small box of cheese you can purchase for $5. We recommend visiting the Hare winery on your visit to NOTL.

Staff was more than accommodating! They were able to turn our frowns upside down! They made it their mission for us to have an amazing experience and we certainly did. The wine was INCREDIBLE. By far our favourite spot we stopped at on the tour. Thank you Zach Attack for your positive energy and great customer experience!
We will certainly be back!

My wife, myself and our two daughters, did a wine tasting at Hare on Oct 19, 2020. Lovely grounds and set up. Now, none of us are wine experts and really couldn't tell a merlot from a cab or a chardonnay from a reisling. All we know is what we like.
The bottom line is we had a fantastic time with lots of laughing and education. What made this experience so terrific was the host, Charlie. Full of life and fun who really wants to ensure his guests have a great time - which we absolutely did.
The four wines we chose, BTW, each person can choose their own four wines, happened to be two whites and two reds, all from the vineyard (as opposed to purchasing grapes rom others which some vineyards do at times, based upon variety). All four were really nice and we chose a few that we really liked to purchase - prices were very reasonable. We also got the cheese package (for my wife and daughters as I don't eat cheese) which, I'm told were excellent and well worth the $5.
I would certainly recommend Hare, and if you have the opportunity, definitely use Charlie as your host - he made all the difference between a good and terrific experience!

Our time at the hare was exceptional. Not only is the winery itself beautiful the service provided during our tasting was extra fun. Richard was the employee who provided our tastings but he also provided comedic commentary that kept us laughing the entire time (this was our first winery that day lol)! He was knowledgeable and we vowed to write a great review to let others know as well.

Stopped into The Hare to try their wines after receiving a tasting pass from our B&B hosts at Greenview Manor. Had the pleasure of being served by Richard, who's a one man comedy show. He was knowledgeable and charming and kept us laughing with some good zingers. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and wines. Left with more than a few bottles. Beautiful venue and store.
This was our first visit to NOTL and we will be back soon. We look forward to another visit to The Hare when we return!

Does the bike path along 55 go as far as this winery? And is the patio (and pizza) open the entire month of September?

No, it doesn't - finishes at Gretzky's about a couple of kms away however, there is a good space outside the white line. More difficult might be crossing 55.
No idea about Sept.
