- LouiseOxfordshire, United Kingdom58 contributionsWonderful!Had the most amazing tasting experience. They have a wonderful selection of wines and spirits, and their hosts are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. We visited as part of our honeymoon and were treated like royalty, we had a great lunch in a wonderful atmosphere afterwards and a lovely walk around the grounds. Most definitely worth a visit!Hi Frequentflier790028, Thank you for joining us! We are happy to see you had a great time at the estate. - Jeff RThornhill, Canada772 contributionsAlways a pleasure to visitWhenever we are passing through the Niagara region, we always make sure we stop here. Love their wine tastings and advice. This time out, when buying wine we asked which ones were not at the LCBO and, with that knowledge made our selections. I wish their brandy was at the LCBO as its delicious.Hi jeliho, Thank you for joining us at the Estate! Happy to be one of your stops on your travels. Hope you enjoy a glass of Brandy on this long weekend. - sexychef21Charlotte, North Carolina56 contributionsGreat tour for wine lovers and Wayne Gretzky fans, alike! All of the staff we encountered were so friendly! I would highly suggest this informative winery tour and tasting. They also had a nice area with lawn games adjacent to the outdoor cafe. We were told during the cooler weather they turn their decorative water feature (shallow man-made pond) into an ice skating rink.Hi sexychef21, Thank you for joining us, you will have to come visit in the winter season to see the ice rink in full swing. - Alan T10 contributionsExcellent service and productEverything at Gretzky's was perfect. Out server was a young girl (Teanna) and she absolutely made our visit. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was so much appreciated. My wife and I both tried the whiskey and the cream liquors and both were excellent. Will definitely be back to Gretzky's in the near future.Hi Alan T, Thank you for visiting us, happy to see you had a great time with Teanna! Our cream whisky is one of our best sellers. Be sure to visit us during rink season to have it in some coffee while you enjoy a skate. Tasty and strong. My wife had the Raspberry Riesling Smash that was tasty but small. The fries were the perfect amount for 2 to share.Hi JIMGTO, Thank you for visiting the Whisky Bar Patio and enjoying some cocktails. We did a tour with David and didn't realize it included both wine and whiskey tastings. He was very well informed and clearly enjoyed his job. Such a fun property with hockey memorabilia everywhere.Hi 14jkc, Thank you for joining us on our Tour! Happy to see you had a great time with David. Tiana served another customer, who was less than ideal, with patience and calmness. She then served us and made us feel like we were the only customers in the building. She was amazing, professional and so very sweet Thank you for making our experience so wonderful. - a_linds123Mississauga, Canada58 contributionsTasting varietyWe loved that this winery allows you to mix and match your tasting flight with wine, vodka, whiskey, and cream liquors. It’s a beautiful building and we really enjoyed the patio on a warm afternoon in March. With this being a larger winery we found the service to be a less personal experience compared to others we visited but we still enjoyed it.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten March 14, 2024
- Kym PMeaford, Canada160 contributionsGreat EveningWas on a business trip and a tour of Wayne Gretzky Estates was arranged with dinner. We arrived and started our tour with some wine tasting and a bit of back ground information about the wines produced. Moved on to the distillery with some history of what is made and storage. Went into another area where we sampled some maple whiskey (not my favourite but smelled delicious) The last part of our tour was downstairs where we tried their cream liquors, absolutely delicious. They had a fairly decent size gift shop where we could purchase all sorts of things from liquor, clothing and food. Ours was a mini tour but i know they offer all sorts of tours and classes. Our tour guy was extremely knowledgeable and fun. We had dinner at the site, it was quite lovely and the food was good, all the staff at the winery were very friendly. Lots of Wayne Gretzky framed large print photos of his life that you can walk around and look at. My first time visiting a winery, had a lot of fun and would visit again when we could stay longer.Visited April 2024Travelled on businessWritten April 27, 2024

We rang in the new year at Wayne Gretzky Estates and it’s a New Year’s we will not forget! Complete with a 3 course dinner with wine pairing, live music, skating and hot chocolate and dancing near the end of the night. It was absolutely amazing and well planned by the Wayne Gretzky staff.
There was assigned seating and 100 guests total so it wasn’t too packed with people. You could wander around the winery down to the cellar where there was live music and dancing at the end of the night.
The food was great quality and you weren’t overfed with too much, it was the perfect amount. My favourite part was the skating on the outdoor rink with hot chocolate which you could have regular or spiked with the famous Wayne Gretzky whiskey.
Such an amazing night that we will remember! Best way to ring in 2020!

Tastings just for two Niagara-on-the-Lake 2022, this was the perfect trip to take at this time of year when its cold outside and warm inside. Wayne Gretzky estate always have surprises to share with you. Wine tastings which included Icewine was the best, The host, she was just the best, full of great tips and she had a great knowledge of the products and how to pair them with your food and pallet. Book a trip today and you for sure enjoy it. Hilton hotels have some of the the best rooms to offer you for a night stay over.

Visited as a local with the intentions of trying some whisky and wines. Made my way to the whisky bar with a colleague. The server explained how the tasting worked and poured our samples. She gave us a brief explanation on what we were trying and then turned her back to us to talk to the other two couples in the room. We enjoyed the creme whisky and went to grab two off the shelves and waited for her to finish her conversation so we could pay but she kept her back turned to us the rest of the time. After 10 minutes of waiting, I asked another worker if we could pay for the bottles and he seemed very unwilling to help us. We then made our way into the wine tasting room just to have a look. We walked around for a few moments and decided to head out. On our way out the same gentlemen who cashed us out was standing in front of the cash talking to the cashier and rudely asked us if we were looking for a tasting and proceeded to add that we were in the wrong area to do so. We simply declined and left. Though we enjoyed the products, we left with a sour note about the experience.

Over looking the Estate from the balcony of the main building we were treated to a pairing experience with the gold medal selection. Starting with a winning IPA paired with a spent grain smoked sausage and whole grain mustard, next the Whiskey Oak Aged Red paired with chocolate brownie and butterscotch drizzle, next Award winning Icewine paired with a dry chili rubbed goat cheese balls and then finished off with Oak Aged Whiskey paired with smoked salmon and tzatziki on a pita.
Spencer and Barb were exceptional hosts and we will be returning for another Gold Medal Champions Tasting...with friends!

Went with friends who are members for a tasting day! Lots to see and do, few tasting levels, an outdoor bar and ice rink! AMAZING!! Cool atmosphere, sampled products were the best compared to the other two wineries we tried. Went to a mixology class hosted by Ian, and this was the BEST part of our day! So fun, cool drinks and Ian was amazing with his stories, toasts, and jokes!! Ian got into our group so quickly we wanted to take him with us. I wish we stayed at Wayne Gretzky's all day! Highly Recommend if you are looking for a fun, relaxed day!

The property is great and has an overall cool vibe. Many options when it comes to drinks beer, wine, and cocktails. However, was extremely disappointed in the service staff. When getting a drink from the concession stand area, I watched the server take a previously poured glass of wine out of the fridge and pour it into another glass, and serviced it to me. When I asked him “are you serving me a previously poured glass” he became argumentative and sed “it the same wine as the bottle” becoming quite arrogant. When I am at a winery paying $10 plus for a glass of wine, I expect to see the wine poured from a bottle into my glass. Covid protocols are not being followed.

Dropped in to have lunch with my wife. We were told that we would both have to pay a $10 skating fee to access the restaurant, even though we were not skating and the two are separate from each other.
There is a tiny seasonal rink next to the restaurant. I CANNOT believe that Canadian hockey icon, famous for having a backyard rink, charges kids $10 to skate. So wrong.

This was a very disappointing wine tasting experience. It was very impersonal. It just felt like being on a patio at a restaurant. The views were beautiful but it’s too commercialized. At the other tastings we went to the staff spent quality time with us explaining each wine and the differences between them. Here you order 4 wines from a list (and they were out of some) and they bring it to you and walk away. We would NOT recommend this if you want a full wine tasting experience.

First timer! My boyfriend and I drove up to Niagara for the long weekend and this was probably our favorite place we visited here! Niagara-on-the-Lake is such a quaint town, we had no expectations on how much fun we would have. We first went for wine tasting, and we ended up buying the Baco and Oak Aged Cab, then , walked over to the whiskey tasting. This was a highlight for both of us. Ian was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and just a fun time. We ended up buying the Canadian Cream and Red Cask. Definitely recommend!

Very dissapointing experience! We really wanted to love this establishment but were sadly disappointed. The food was terrible and verging on inedible. The menu selection and quality of food was below a fast food restaurant standard. The customer service was non existent and the staff was not helpful at all. The bar and the patio areas were very dirty and unsanitary. We did not consume our food as it was inedible or partially spoiled. We paid over $200 for a lunch that should not be served at any licensed establishment. We observed several food handling issues. The washroom was disgusting and was out of tissue/soap or any products to dry your hands. Don't waste your time or money, you will be sadly disappointed. Try Peller Estates instead!

Are children allowed on the tour? If so, are they the same price as an adult ticket?
Written July 4, 2019
I saw quite a few children who were with their parents on the tour..... they’re wasn’t a charge if you just wanted to do the tasting’s (just the charge per glass situation. I don’t think they charged for children accompanied by an adult!!!

Is this a place that teens would be welcome (for the tour not the alcohol, of course)?
Written May 24, 2019
Absolutely, they are a very welcoming, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We saw a ton of kids much younger than teens even.

When do they start serving food again this spring
Written May 12, 2019
They should be ready now. I was there and they were working on the foundation for the beer brewery. Now that that is set they were ready to open the restaurant for business.

Will the ice skating rink be open the Friday after thanksgiving?
Written October 5, 2018
Hi There,
Unfortunately, it will not be open at that time. We require a constant temperature of 6 degrees in order to build the surface and base layer right before we open. Hopefully in a few months we will be ready!

Hi There,
Are there any recommended tours that:
-pick up and drop off from Toronto
-tour both Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery & Distillery and Niagara Falls
Thanks!
Written August 3, 2018
The company i used is called Brewery Distillery Tours Niagara. They have a wide variety of tours available and multiple pick up spots. They are very accommodating and friendly. Check out my review of them.

Was this the 30$ tour ? Enough wines and whisky tastings for the price ? By your review, I figure it was worth it ?
Written July 9, 2018
Yes, it was the $30 tour and it was plenty for us.
We would have done one of the other tours, but they need more notice or are only done at certain times of the day.
