We go annually to see plays at the Shaw Festival at Niagara on the Lake as part of a theatre trip to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, with old friends who meet us here each year. This is simply a fun place to see the best in theatre, buy some wines at any of a number of fine wineries,... More

Saw Engaged in October 2016 at the Royal George. Acting was wonderful. Seats are narrow and tight. We bought tickets in the second row (last minute decision). Wouldn't recommend being quite so close (a little unsettling watching actors spittle fly out). Very good performance but prefer the grandeur of Stratford more.

In mid-September 2016, we attended three theatre performances at the Shaw Festival. The plays were actually held in two different theaters , but both theaters have comfortable seating and are relatively small so there are no major sight and sound problems. The name is a bit of a misnomer. There are throughout the season performances of a Bernard Shaw play... More

So many visitors to Niagara on the Lake come because it is known as the Prettiest Town in Canada but they forget about the Famous Shaw Festival Theatre with it live performances that are extrodinary. Take a back stage tour for $10.00 what a deal. All the costumes are made here in this little town of only 15,000 people. Compare... More

We went to see a pair of plays - Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland - at this theatre and thoroughly enjoyed both presentations. We sat in front row balcony seats for both plays and had a great view. The productions were well done with fantastic sets and excellent interpretations of both stories. Shaw Festival Theatre is on the edge... More

This is a difficult time of the year for someone who so loves the productions at Shaw; the new offerings for 2017 are now available to purchase, and there are just so many gems to choose from. The simplest concept would be to buy the season's pass, but unfortunately, I like to choose our seats much further in advance -... More

I saw all 10 plays this past season, and continue to love the Shaw experience. Master Harold, Black Girl and A Woman of No Importance were the highlights for me, though I have to say that, in the 12 years I have been attending, I have not seen one play I didn't enjoy. Acting, lighting. sets, venues, Shaw staff, Niagara-on-the-Lake........ More

The Shaw Festival provides a wonderful theatrical experience. We saw Alice in Wonderland and loved the production. The costumes were amazing! We enjoyed the combination of speaking and singing. We got a great deal on the tickets through Travelzoo.
