Event Date: January Discovery Pass Price : Regular Price, $45 for 8 passes Online Early Bird Price in Dec. $35 for 8 passes. The Ice Wine Festival Is an outdoor activity during the weekends of January You need to purchase a Discovery Pass online or at any participating wineries. The Discovery Pass allows you to do 8 wineries of the Ice Wine Tasting with food pairing. You may share your pass with your friends or family if you only wish to purchase 1 Discovery Pass. Every participants counts as one scan so if two of you are sharing one pass you get access on 4 different wineries of your choice. You don’t have to finish one Discovery Pass in one weekend you may use the remaining pass for the other weekends. It’s a good idea to grab a copy of the booklet for the festival. You’ll find all the events for the weekends, the participating wineries, maps, locations with their type of wine the winery is sampling and the kind of food they are pairing it with. Ice Wine Village is an outdoor activity located at the Town of Niagara-on-the-lake. Its a street festival two weekends of January starts 11am-5pm on Saturday and 12-5pm on Sundays. Its a free to admission to the Ice Wine Village festival but to participate with the tasting you will need to purchase a glass and tokens. You may bring your glass from the previous festival but Im not sure if you can bring your own unmarked glass from home. Both Food and Icewine samples are 1 token each. Tokens are $6.00 and glasses are $5.00. There’s a $30 bundle that gives you 6 tokes and glass. This is a good place to go if you don’t have time to go the wineries and yet you want to try different kinds of Ice Wine in one spot. Some company gives a free coupon to the customers to visit and experience a wine tour and to have a taste of other wines their winery has to offer. Even if you were able to visit other wineries wineries, I think the Ice Wine Village is still good place to visit as well. Will I go again? Yes, there’s so much winery to try. But I hope the wineries will be more prepare with the their food pairing. Some wineries are really prepared so their food pairing is presentable but some are not so well.
