About
Southbrook Vineyards is Canada's first certified organic and biodynamic winery. Located on the periphery of scenic Niagara-on-the-Lake, Southbrook houses a 150 acres of land with 67 acres of vines. Owners Bill & Marilyn Redelmeier have always strived for complex, age-worthy Chardonnays and Bordeaux-blends. With the help of winemaker, Casey Hogan, Southbrook has been producing award-winning wines, towards with a focus local and sustainable wine making. Stop in for a visit at the winery and learn about our LEED Gold Certified retail pavilion and winery, all the while enjoying a glass of our locally produced wines.

My wife, two daughters and I did a wine tasting at Southbrook Oct 18, 2020. We chose Southbrook because of their organic commitment and product offerings.
Now, I just want to preface by saying that none of us are wine experts and likely couldn't tell a merlot from a cab. All we know is what we like.
We signed up for the four wine tasting, two whites and two reds, a reisling, chardonnay, gamay and cab. Our host, George, was very thorough with educating us on the wines as we went through them. I'm not a cab guy (too heavy bodied) but I really liked this particular cab. Because they use very low sulfur content (acts as a preservative that often gives you the typical headaches) , the cab was very smooth and delightful - much lighter than I often get with the traditional LCBO cabs.
As well, the owner Bill stopped by and we had a great conversation about the organic wine industry and the vineyard - really informative.
We also had a chance to taste their "Orange" wine which I suggest everyone takes advantage of - well worth it.
At the end, we purchased a bunch of bottles including our favorites, reisling, gamay and Orange.
Overall, really good experience and I'd highly recommend visiting Southbrook.

We have been attending wine tastings at Southbrook for the last year and LOVE it!! Loved it so much we became members. If you like to feel like you are part of the family and taste the most delicious organic biodynamic wine in a beautiful quiet modern and rustically decorated place then this is it! Bill the founder/owner often comes to the winery and visits the guests one table at a time getting to know you and chatting about the winery and his experiences with developing the various wines. Yesterday we had George as our server. George is so patient and knowledgeable! We had a nice chat and he brought us the newest wine to try in addition to our tastings. We also tried their pizza and it was exquisite! Our guests were very happy with the experience. Thank you Southbrook for the amazing wine, the awesome tastings and for being organic and biodynamic.

Stopping in at Southbrook was one of the highlights of our trip to Niagara. The attention given to creating a fully organic winery and serving wines that are of great quality is to be applauded. A personal visit from the owner to our table made for a truly memorable experience and has ensured our continued loyalty to their venture.

This Fully Organic winery opened my eyes and palates to such flavourful wines in the region. Fabienne made my day with her beautiful French accent and details of their winery and each wine tasting.. thank you

Wow! What a wonderful experience we had at Southbrook. We booked a last minute tasting experience online and used a coupon code for buy 1 get 1 free tastings. For $10 per person we got to sample 4 wines. Our lovely host also started us off with a bonus sample of a sparkling wine to start and brought our group some dessert wines to sample at the end. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the vineyard while we sampled and socialized. Southbrook has several unique wines on their tasting menu that we thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back!

My fiancee and I dropped by on a very slow day. We each had a tasting flight comprised of delicious wines. Our server was informative and helpful, bringing us what we needed without being too present or intrusive. We ended up getting a bottle of the late harvest Vidal - wonderful! We would gladly come again to see the grounds.

Southbrook is a MUST SEE on any wine tour in NOTL! We visit each year to purchase our favorite wines and of course book a curated tasting so we can try any new wines. Every year we add another 'must have' to our already growing selection. The property is pristine and welcoming. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

What a wonderful winery doing some pretty special things. This is a fully organic and biodynamic winery and its pretty special. The wines are wonderful and George knew everything you need to know about every single wine on the tasting menu.
There is plenty of parking and the tasting room was light and spacious with lovely comfortable chairs. A perfect environment to enjoy some truly beautiful wines.
Andrew the owners son even came over to thank us while we were there - this made us feel very special and enhanced our experience.
Highly recommend this winery for its wine, how friendly everyone is and their commitment to the environment! Great job Southbrook!

Came here for a tasting on the long weekend and was really happy with the service. The person serving us our wine was prompt, very nice and accommodating. The tasting area was surrounded by vines, and overall really lovely. We had the poetica tasting which had a nice variety of wines. I really loved the poetica red blend. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in Niagara on the lake.

Such a lovely spot to enjoy wine and charcuterie or pizza, which you order to your tasting table. They have a tent set up with low key cushioned wooden furniture and some Muskoka chairs around the edges. There was even a swallow’s nest high up in the corner of the tent; we watched the parents feeding chicks while we sipped and nibbled. The wines were all very interesting - they have a greater variety than many of the other vineyards we visited. The owner came and chatted with us for a while. It was a lovely low key wine tasting experience. We were there for almost two hours and would definitely come back.

I am planning a bike tour with girlfriends and was wondering if there’s a bike path that goes all the way to this winery. I know there is a path that follows 55 just not sure how far it goes.

Hi there - I was there recently and per usual, had a very nice experience as the staff were so nice to deal with.. - granted, we racked up a swift $1700+ bill with the wines we purchased, but they are very good and always so friendly to deal with. On this occasion, we also had a couple of bottles of the non alcoholic apple and raspberry cider - my 11 year old loves this and I would like to order some more.. I was on the website, but don't see it there... is it possible to order this online?
