About
Colaneri is a new family-owned and operated winery that hand-harvests the finest grapes to produce premium VQA award-winning wines from its surrounding vineyards. Most of the wines are made with the traditional Italian appassimento style of drying grapes, including a large portfolio of red, white and dessert wines. A new series has been introduced, made in the “recioto” style of making dessert wines. The winery is built in the Romanesque style featuring a captivating panoramic view of the vineyard and escarpment atop the St. David’s Bench appellation. The wine tasting bar overlooks the production area, allowing visitors to see the process. We, La famiglia Colaneri, are always on hand to share the experience and the passion that went into the making of our wines and our winery.

Phenomenal and hands down my most favorite winery in Niagara
From the moment we drove up to Colaneri Estate, it was a beautiful trip to Italy. This, hands down has to be my favorite winery in all of Niagara. Everything was beautifully unique. You have paid reservations so it's not overly crowded, view of the vineyard was amazing and Tara serving us our wine was phenomenal. I recommend this to anyone as it is a family owned winery and each wine label tells a beautiful story. Will definitely visit during the summer as well! Thanks for making my bday special!

Be sure to experience a tasting at Colaneri. You will love the wines!
This was a true experience. An introduction to a passionately owned family business. Debbie made the wines come alive with our tasting experience. She had an answer to every question and obviously enjoys the wines as much as I do. Even the explanation of the labels was unique. I now know the difference in taste between these carefully curated wines and my cheap go to at the LCBO.

Great wine and pizza, on this Tuscan experience at Piazza Colaneri!!
I have been to Colaneri many times and enjoy the Piazza Colaneri on weekends a few times per year. The lineups and pizza was not were I hoped in 2022, but I am pleased to say the Service, Pizza, and wine were excellent on Canada Day 2023🇨🇦🇨🇦🍷🍷🍕🍕 We were a group of 5 and had a bottle of The Cab Sauv (so yummy and “Big” on taste with 100% Appassimento dried fruit used), and a bottle of the Pinot Grigio (amazing Pinot Grigio that was just released and has a peach/light red colour due to the 40% Appassimento dried fruit used). Wine was a 5 out of 5 and we bought some to take home as well!! Drank lots of water with the wine as it was very warm on patio…..Pizza’s arrived and were cooked perfectly and everyone enjoyed the experience. Thanks to 335 On The Ridge for the yummy pizza’s 🍕🍕 and the servers that took great care of everyone!! Great experience we’ll be back for sure Cheers!!🇨🇦🇨🇦🍷🍷

    An excellent wine tasting experience
We were a group of three and set up our own wine tour. We usually visit the Niagara region several times a year, but this was our first visit in almost a year. This was the fourth of five winery visits that were completed this trip. A very picturesque, impressive facility. We did not make a reservation for this tasting visit and when we arrived were unable to secure an immediate slot. We were able to book a time slot for later in the afternoon with the host. We recommend booking a reservation for this location in advance. This winery utilizes the Italian appassimento style of wine making extensively which makes it a favourite for us. The tasting was conducted indoors and the associated tasting fees are reasonable. Our host for this visit was very good. She was very knowledgeable with respect to the history of the winery, the unique labelling employed by winery and, of course, the wines themselves. This was a very good experience this visit. We did purchase several bottles at the wine shop at the end of the tasting. We will definitely return for another visit in the future.

    Do not miss it!
Great place, awesome service and really good wines. Definitely the best Ontario wines I have tasted. They are on the pricey side but the experience is definitely worth the money. Try the 2020 Cab Sauvignon and the Insieme red blend. Delicious!

    One of the best!
Just had a tasting experience with Brian - we can say that he knows his stuff, very fun and informative tasting. The vineyard has an interesting history and stories behind each label. I think this is one of the best vineyards which offers consistent quality across the wine portfolio. Definitely some of the best wines in Niagara, the whites have a ton of character, the reds have great longevity and cellaring capability and the ice wine is stellar. If you’re thinking about coming here, just do it

We made a tasting reservation at Colaneri and due to a back log at the previous winery we were about 25 minutes late and were very rudely informed by the manager that "you are 35 minutes late and we can no longer accommodate you". I apologized and explained why we were late and asked if they could be flexible and she very sharply said "NO!". The only option we were given was to sit outside and pay for a flight of wine - when we had already paid for our tasting which was non refundable! I asked if it would be possible for them to pour the tasting wines and served them outside - we completely understood that they did not have someone available to talk us through the wines. I explained that we were quite knowledgeable about wine and were happy to taste them on our own. That option was refused. We spoke with Jess (one of the patio servers) and explained our situation and asked if she would be willing to accommodate us. She was happy to but said that she did not have the authority to make that call. She offered to get Chris Colaneri so I could explain our situation to him. Chris reinforced that the only option was for us to pay for a flight and sit outside. I pleaded with him to reconsider and he flatly refused. I explained that I was also in the customer service industry and in his shoes I would choose to be flexible and have a satisfied client. He still refused to accommodate us. I literally asked him if it was about the money and he responded to say 'of course it is about the money'. I told him that I would not give them a good review and he did not care! We left Colaneri and stopped at AMO winery. We did not have a reservation and Shayla could not have been more accommodating and welcomed us in. We had an amazing experience. We met Kamy (one of winery family members). She was lovely and we talked at length with her, Shayla, Michael and Vanessa. The wine was delicious and their brand is very unique. The bottles are work of art. The decor was very chic - we felt like we were in an upmarket NY lounge. Spend your time at AMO.

Pulling up to Colaneri is an exciting experience. You will feel as though you are in Tuscany. The building is enormous. We went inside to see what it was like but we were more than happy to be seated on the piazza as we didn't have reservations. Our server was very friendly and prompt and we were able to share a tasting served with a bowl of crackers. All of the wines were enjoyable. Would definitely return if we are ever in the area again. A wonderful experience all around.
