Quaint store in old downtown Niagara on the Lake. There were plenty of pleasant staff assisting customers. The customer service was excellent and the selection of quality of hats made it so hard to chose. We were on the way to Niagara Falls and decided to stop by.

It’s all hats, all the time here. More importantly, the quality of the products is first rate and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Some of the hats can be pricey, but mostly this is a reflection of the quality of the materials and design. You pay, but the hat will last for many years. I bought an oilskin hat that is all cotton, water repellant and has a lifetime guarantee. The store will help you with it in future once you register with them. You would think that a large city like Toronto would have something like this, but I’ve yet to find it. But then, we’re always looking for an excuse to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake and BeauChapeau is a good one.

Thanks to an amazing and talented Sales person I recently added two amazing hats to my collections. Riley spent a great deal of time with me discussing the great selection of hats. You see my father was a hat man and when he passed away I took up the challenge. When I had selected two outstanding Fedoras Riley event took the time to steam and cleaning the Fedora I was wearing. This was my first visit to Beau Chapeau but thanks to Riley's expertise it won't be my last.

Last weekend I visited the store with my husband. We were kindly greeted at the door by a young lady who clearly explained that masked should be worn at all times while in the store (even when trying hats on) unfortunate many others after me did not listen to this rule as throughout my shopping experience people were taking off masks and approaching workers with masks off and not distancing by 2 meters. The courageous ladies working on the floor would kindly ask people to put back on their masks. I felt so uncomfortable for the workers as I can not imagine the anxiety and danger they are being put under on a daily basis. The general public seemed to be so inconsiderate and would use excuses like "I want to see what the hat looks like without the mask!"
Now my 5 out of 5 ratings is for the workers as although they are fighting a losing battle they still approach all situations with grace and kindness. Be kinder to these ladies as they work very hard and still deliver excellent service!

You are 100% correct, these ladies do get a lot of grief from people who are just not able to understand the mandatory mask bylaw in put in place by the regional government. They do their best each and every day to try to keep both our guests and each other safe and some days are great, some are less great. But your words of encouragement will go a long way to make their day better. We will be sure to post your words on our Communication Board for all to see. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It is almost impossible to find a proper hat these days, so I was delighted to find BeauChapeau. They have everything I could ask for, from skimmers to fedoras, from bowlers to silk top hats. I was able to find just the hat that I was looking for with the help of their very kindly and learned staff. I even have a lifetime guarantee that allows me to send it back to them for cleaning or repair, though I hope never to need it. I take care of my hats!

Great selection, great service!
There was a particular hat that I was looking for, but unfortunately, my size was out of stock. The capable young lady suggested that I could order it, no money down, and they would inform me when it was back in stock. True to their word, I was contacted when it arrived, My wife and I made another sojourn back to the store. My pre-ordered hat fit perfectly… And my wife found something she liked, so we made another purchase.
Very pleasant and helpful service, I’ve purchased many hats from them over the years, In my opinion, it’s probably the best hat shop in Canada!

On our recent trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, we stopped into this store, three days in a row! They have a huge variety of hats. Every style, material, color, make, it's all there for you. We couldn't leave without buying several hats. One of the highlights for us, in addition to the huge selection, was the great service that we received there. Shelby was so helpful and friendly. She is a great asset to the store. I guarantee you, if you even have the slightest interest in hats, you will love this place!

My family visits NOTL approximately 3 times a year on day trips. Over the years, we've developed our favorite shops in the town can cannot be missed. Beau Chapeau is such a unique boutique. The staff is friendly and helpful, and we are able to try on so many fun hats before making our selections. With so few true hat shops around these days, it's always a must-see for us!

I have 4 winter hats from Beau Chapeau. I love them! They are so warm. The style of each is reminiscent of Downton Abbey! I get compliments each time I wear them! And I love the ear flaps that cover my ears for extra warmth! Every time I visit Niagara on the Lake I treat myself to a hat from Beau Chapeau. I also like that each purchase is put in a hat box. Great for storage!
