We recently had a tasting at Reif as it's one of our usual places to visit. Kerissa greeted us and took care of my wife for her tasting. What made the experience great was Kerissa's personality. Myself being a witty fool, just resonated with Kerissa's energy, and made for a very great time full of laughs (sorry you cannot have my jacket Kerissa). She was constantly apologetic for leaving us to attend anyone who walked in the door, we told her to stop apologizing as she was the only person working there. The fact she could balance tastings, customer questions, and the cash was amazing to watch her multitask. Thank you so much Kerissa for making our experience with Reif so special, they are lucky to have you, and all the best in your future. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

We had 3 wine tastings and were given an option of what to taste. One of the things we taste was a Vinea, a grape liquer, which took the Klaus Reif (founder and wine maker) 20 years to perfect the recipe. The Vinea was the highlight of the tastings. It was busy when we got there, so our wine taster, while she did spend time talking about the wine aromas and bouquet, the Reif family and the winery, it did feel rushed (and we did not come as part of a massive wine tour group). The inside of the winery, the main tasting room, did not look anything unique or special and the washrooms could definitely use some cleaning, tbh. The grounds of the estate look like they have some lovely outdoor dining options in the summer months and Reif is located right beside the lake, so I imagine it’s even busier during the summer.

Not only is Reif estates a beautiful property, it is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I joined a friend for a tasting yesterday and was highly impressed by George and Kerissa’s knowledge about the wine. I was walked through the correct way to taste wine and was amazed to find a new favourite! The empress, sparkling champagne is a must try for your next visit! Herb led our wine testing and made all the difference in our experience. He suggested fantastic wines that I would never have picked on my own (we left with a bottle of each) and provided interesting information throughout. Best wine tasting experience in a wonderful atmosphere.

I have to say that sometimes your experience at a particular place has a lot to do with circumstance. We visited Reif mid afternoon, mid week, during the off season. We know what we like in a wine so we just ordered a couple of glasses and began to chat with the gentleman behind the bar. Because they weren't busy, we chatted the afternoon away. We talked wine, travel, cars, places we lived, family and who knows what else. We has a really fun afternoon. And the wine was pretty darn good too. Excellent enough to stick around for hours. Had they been busy, this may be a different story. But go for the wine anyways.

Ana was absolutely amazing in guiding the wine tasting for us. I came with a bachelor party this time and was not disappointed. As a wine club member, I haven’t been back for two years and she reaffirmed my decision to join. You should too!

Alana was so much fun to taste with. We lucked out and walked in without a reservation, it was a quiet afternoon, so we were able to taste without a problem. I love when the pourer suggestion wines that we haven't tried. Next time we will try a blind tasting in black glasses.

Kerissa served us during our wine tasting and was a lot of fun! While she was new to providing wine tastings, she made the experience enjoyable with her friendly and bubbly personality. We also learned about the owner Klaus, a 13th generation wine maker who is German and doesn't appreciate dad jokes. Overall, we had a great time at the winery and would recommend it.

We consider ourselves to be wine snobs. Wines from Canada are not typically our favorite wines to drink. But tasting wine is more than just drinking. It is the interaction with those around you and the host/hostess. That is where Reif gets 5-stars. Our hostess Guillia was exceptional. When someone like her is serving you wine, you want to buy the wine. We bought several bottles of the Vinea -- very similar to Port. Although Reif was busy with a large crowd that day, Guillia took time to give us a great tasting experience.
