Nothing special
Oct. 2020
We had heard so much about Duchesnay falls in things to do in North Bay, so decided to see them. Firstly, do not go by the google map. It takes you to the first nations land right behind the falls where you could get arrested by their police for trespassing. So the access is via the parking lot just off highway#17. It is not marked so you have to guess that the parking lot is for the falls. Secondly, the trail is not marked so you have to guess and follow the sounds of water. Thirdly, the falls divide into two sections, and you have to walk through the first smaller section over the slippery stones to reach the main falls. This will depend on the amount of water the first falls have. I braved the slippery stones while my husband did not. The main falls were nice to look at but nothing special. So overall, a poorly marked falls with no markings. I would not do it again.

A nice waterfall but nothing spectacular

The falls are easily accessed right off the road but as others have mentioned the asking lot is small so if there’s a lot of people there you may not be able to stop

I went to the falls from the bottom. There’s two segments. One with a weak flow and the larger one. It was ok, nice quick visit but I would t stop there again

Beautiful fall wall

GPS navigation will lead to a small parking lot. We got a spot but not sure where to park if it is full. Walk along the falls is beautiful, but somewhat rocky. Views are quite stunning and certainly worth the effort.

It was on the map to see....it was ok.
Sep. 2020
In fairness we have seen a lot of falls in our travels so this one is ok. We parked and walked down to the Falls and took some pics and got back in the car. We wanted to say we had seen them as we were in the area and it was on the must do, but most likely could have passed.

Beautiful Trail
Aug. 2020
Loved this trail. The day we went it got a little muddy because of rain the day before. The falls are beautiful. I had my son on the carrier and it was no problem.

Lots to see, challenging!
Aug. 2020
The view is spectacular, the trails varied in difficulty, but if you plan to walk alongside the falls, be ready for a very challenging hike with lots of rocks, roots and elevation. Great area!

Difficult trails
Aug. 2020 • Family
The place looks amazing but the trails are not marked and most of the trail is very high elevation and steep rocky climbs, which makes it difficult with small children. No map at the entrance to the falls. Had to use mobile phone navigation. We got lost and took a wrong turn, later came out to a side road with locally owned residences and had to walk back around 500 meters on the side of the highway (dangerous). Not very suitable for little kids.

Great Scenic Hike
Jul. 2020
My wife and I visited North Bay in July 2020 and were looking for things to do when so many attractions were closed due to Covid-19. We decided to visit Duchesnay Falls, a short drive outside of the city, and were very impressed with the area. The trails are well marked and you definitely get some exercise climbing from one level of the falls to the next one. It was a hot day, but fortunately the whole area is well shaded. We definitely recommend visiting this area.

Great View but Trail challenging if accessibility required
Jul. 2020
This is a very natural true hiking trail. In order to get a view of the falls you must be able to traverse hills, roots and rocks. It is not wheelchair or walker accessible. However my Mum uses a cane sometimes and was fine with a bit of help here and there from my Wife and I
