I believe my son and I cycled the whole circuit from Callendar-Marathon Beach. It was really a fantastic way to see the area. A good portion is on roadways, with ample bike lanes and careful motorists. The signage was confusing for us when the North Bay portion began, and we got lost for a time. Kind local walkers reoriented us. It seemed longer than 12.7 one way. It took us 3 hrs, with 20 minutes getting lost and a 30 minute break.

Great paved trail connecting the beautiful waterfront with parts of our community. Notably the paceway connects North Bay to Calendar Bay to allow for long leisurely rides. A bike lane was recently painted on Memorial Drive to allow for physical distance and increased volume of use due to Covid 19.

The pace-way if for walkers, bikers and as we hope to discover this winter snowshoeing. The trail is a good size wide for good movement. There is a 2 km section for only in-line skating and bicycles. There are many different types of views. This is just one of the many ways you can stay active in North Bay where parks and trails seem to abound.

Several times a week I ride the Kate Pace Way...it’s a great & fun ride through natural forest areas as well as urban backyards. Great scenery... often sighting deer, turtles, and other wildlife. Very relaxing time....you can ride for miles and miles from North Bay to Callander, ON.

North Bay has quite a number of interconnected bike-walking paths and the Kate Pace Way is one of them. Thinking about the whole trail system, you can bike from the north end of the city just off Airport Road at the Davedi Club, all the way south through North Bay and onto the next community, Callander. There are a couple of place where you have to bike on the road [bike lanes are marked] but the great majority of the trip is on dedicated biking-walking paths. The rides are quite easy--no steep climbs--and you can join or leave the paths at various locations near restaurants, malls, shops. I have always found the path clean and safe, even for a solo rider. People walk, people bike, people run their wheelchairs--there's room for all. Completely free and a wonderful thing to do in North Bay, spring, summer or fall. [And in the winter, the paths are open for snowshoeing, skiing, and sledding.]

Fantastic walking a bike path - be aware though that in Ferris it stops and you have to use the road before it resumes. Not even a nice part on the road either. The rest is great though.

Part way down the biking path is a station for an air pump and tool station which I've used on numerous occasions. The bike ride is gorgoues along Lake Nipissing. If you continue down the path past Lakeshore drive, it's even nicer (the traffic however, picks up a bit on the path.)

We like this trail in the summer for a bike ride, but recently found it is also a nice snowshoe trek ( in particular if you broke a bone in the summer and need a smoother surface for recovery!)
