We heard and read a little bit about this beach on Trout Lake and decided to visit while in North Bay and must say it was worth the drive. There’s a small sandy beach area but the water and views are amazing, so pretty, quite the photo op. Unfortunately it was a cool day and we didn’t go in swimming but the water certainly looked inviting. There was one family who was enjoying the beach and water though while we were there but brrrr 🥶. Looks like a great place to spend a day or go to have a picnic and a swim. We will definitely be returning on a warmer day. Highly recommend a visit here at Birchhaven Cove Beach.

Returned to my hometown recently, and realized how much this place is a jewel. To have a lovely swimming area in a suburb of North Bay is great for families there to enjoy. Big parking lot and canoe lauch availability was important to us too.

The beach is small compared to other local beaches but it is well kept, water is refreshing and clean. The area is very popular with locals

We tried to find The Cove, but was unsuccessful. Very hard place to find GPS took us to a canoe club instead. There were no sign that we could see.

Visiting from England we have little experience of lake beaches - aren't they cold and there are no tides for heaven's sake - so we were very pleased we found this cove. What a great feeling jumping off the deck into that wonderfully refreshing, chlorine and salt free - and surprisingly warm - water.

Really varied depths and all overseen by life-guards. A great experience, thank you Ontario!

Use to come here in the 1980's with friends. Recently visited to see how it had changed. The Cove is the same as it was 30 years ago...Beautifully kept beach, calm waters and gorgeous scenery. Perfect spot for an evening swim or a place to sunbathe (bring sunscreen:) ) . There are enough trees to provide shade if you want that as well. Lots of parking, and a short walk to the beach.

Our family enjoys going after supper, for a quick swim. Our children 8 & 10 yrs old love jumping off the docks, and for those who want to borrow a life jacket, they offer that there, just have to go to the lifeguard station. Not too many picnic table, but there’s a grass area where you can set up for lunch.

As a teen I used to lifeguard at the cove. In the 70's it was a packed beach probably the most busy beach in North Bay. Since moving back to North Bay I have visited and swam there but not a hopping spot it used to be. Still a great beach though.

I have never had such a clean beach experience. I highly recommend this place. Don't be around after dark though, the rougher element moves in.

The Cove was our swimming and hanging out beach back in the 70's and 80's. We used love going there because there were always lots of good looking women swimming. The cove was just a small beach on Trout Lake but it was well maintained. It has changed it's looks now and there is a bigger dock but still a great place to swim. 5/5
