Since 1980, The Ranch has offered western riding at its best. From our trail rides to our lesson program, from our pony club to our pony parties and from our summer camps to twilight ride summer campfires... we offer safe and stalwart horses, friendly and educated staff, and a beautiful and relaxed environment on our farm in Oakville. Join us year round as we guide beginner and expert riders alike through miles of scenic trails in the pristine heart of escarpment country! Whatever your skill level, just bring your love of equis and the outdoors, and our qualified and friendly staff will ensure that you are safely equipped to thoroughly enjoy your ride!

    Wonderful experience
    My mom bought me and my friend a trail ride for my birthday, and my friend and I had a wonderful time. We got there 30 minutes early as instructed and had no problem finding our way to the trail office and were greeted by Nicole and her dog Sylvie. Both were lovely, Nicole took our information and showed us were to get helmets and how to mount the horses and how to control the horses. My friend got to ride Doc and I got to ride Libby. I have been riding Hunter for about 8 years but my friend was a complete beginner. We both had a fantastic time. We both felt safe and comfortable on the ride. Nicole was wonderful the whole time making sure everyone was enjoying themselves and taking pictures. I would definitely recommend the Ranch for anyone looking to get out of the city for an hour and just enjoy some time in nature and with horses. I will be going back and I can't wait to introduce other friends and family to the Ranch. Also I have to mention that the covid protocols were excellent. We were required to wear masks on the property but were able to take them off while mounted. I felt completely safe to be there during covid.

    Celebrating with a horseback ride.
    We celebrated our 36th anniversary with a morning trail ride at The Ranch. I expected to ride a horse, but did not expect the excellent service we got from the staff. From taking their time to orient the group about mounting and dismounting, helping every single person onto the horses, fitting the stirrups, and travelling with the group, taking pictures, announcing the gallop areas. It was such a perfect outing for the two of us. It's been a while since we rode, and it is still a good feeling.

    Such a great place!
    I have been here twice for trail rides with my daughter and can not say enough good things abut The Ranch. The trail guides were great at reassuring all new riders in our group and making us all feel very comfortable. At the end of the ride, they send a link to access the pictures that were taken during the ride, which is a nice memory and ensures that we focus on nature and riding our horses, rather than taking pictures.

Perfect day out!

I took my 10 year old granddaughter who loves horses for a grandmother/granddaughter trail ride. From the horses to the staff to the trail itself, a wonderful experience was had by both of us. Highly recommend!!

Had a blast doing the trail ride. The instructors were clear with their directions and very supportive of all the riders. The horses were lovely and friendly and quirky. Cannot wait to go back.

Wonderful experience for me and my wife. Guides were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Horses were all very calm and well behaved. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go again!

Great first time experience with the ranch and their staff and most importantly the horses. Horses are very calm there. I highly recommend it. One suggestion though - would the ranch provide more detail about lessons and cost on the spot ? I find the staff are busy running the tour and I would appreciate if someone can show me some more info. Or online.

The workers were fantastic - so pleasant to be with and made the ride enjoyable. The trail was great, especially through the woods. Horses were fun with a bit of character. Highly recommend ‘the Ranch’.

This is my third time coming to The Ranch and each and every time was an absolutely great experience. I have and will continue to recommend this location to everyone! Your horses are beautiful and well cared for, it is beautiful to see and the staff is so pleasant and always happy which speaks volumes. We will definitely be coming back again.

Amazing Staff, Horses and Scenery

My niece and I had a terrific time. The staff was welcoming and polite, always making sure we were okay. It was well organized and professionally run. The horses we rode were very calm and gentle. A great escape from the ordinary.

A lovely day in the Ranch

Fantastic experience with the guides and most importantly the horses.
The horses are all adorable, gentle and well-trained. It was so great that we were allowed to visit the horses and pet them before or after our trail. During the trail, the horses knew what’s their job, but they may be distracted by the delicious grasses. That’s why it is important to listen clearly how to draw their attention back in the instruction session and also listen to the guides during the trails.
Overall, we felt comfortable and safe with the horses and the guides. If you are lucky enough, there are friendly dogs and cats welcoming you as well.
