Alert to Asians:

Don't go there, especially on Friday and Sunday! The way THE front desk staff communicates is to scream and yell at you with rage, and such behaviour is endorsed by the management.

Played in a family golf event, first time there. Course has a great layout but where was I to find the layout? Nothing online, no pic on the scorecard or the cart. We were advised by the starter that there were errors on the scorecard listings for pars on the First four holes. Playing blind on a course with bunkers, traps, big rough and loads of reaching water. Normally love it... if I know where they are. Very dry and the turf so hard on the tee, that we snapped or bent the tee's at the blocks. Taking turf (ie playing golf) almost impossible for the same reason. Got slow play advisories from the marshal so we skipped stopping after 9 but got the second one even though no one within sight behind us on the 11th. Assume this course will soon be developed into a fine business or residential complex I can only hope that they save the aquatic life and turtles that live on the acreage. A real plus to my day.

Henny Bogan Does Deerfield
Either it was 32 years of tinkering or just the conditions of 2020, but Deerfield Golf Club finally got it right. After the club re-opened in mid-May, golfers instantly noted the terrific conditions. Fairways and greens were in superb shape and tees were in pristine condition. This was no improvement on the greens which was always the best feature of the course. There exists the sneaking suspicion that the 2- month layoff early in the season gave the grass a chance to grow and thrive and it was particularly evident in the quality of the tees. Bunkers are okay, although the trap in front of the fourth just creeps me out. As for its other terrific features, the course has always sported the best par 5’s around and the best short par 4 in 5 counties. I’m talking the wonderfully designed 3rd hole, where the green sits behind a pond which has an uncanny way of snaring shots hit with just the slightest schlub. And I’ve always loved and feared the long par 3 second hole over water, where my blood type once changed into B Negative. Liquid disaster confronts the unwary on – “gasp” – twelve holes, and although the club and its members tout the longishly difficult 8th as the best hole at Deerfield – they are wrong. It is the most penal and unfair hole in the entire GTA, and don’t get me started. Oh, a most welcome change to the premises happened in the spring and everyone adores the new look 13th, with a grass bunker in front instead of a sand trap.

Paid an underpar. Good job as I would have been disappointed paying full price. Course isn't ready. Can't tell the difference btw the fairways and the rough. A few holes are under water. Range isn't open.

Deerfield Golf Course is a decent track that provides a challenge for all levels of golfer. It is a flat layout and is very walk-able but is deceivingly penal. I first played this course in 1990 when it first opened and swore I would NEVER play it again. It was a cow pasture back then with rocks all over the place. I didn't play it again until 2009 when I moved very close to it and gave it another chance. I was pleasantly surprised. The conditions are very good (although it doesn't have bent grass fairways or tees). Greens roll well but are not overly challenging. The fairways are ample but if you hit a wayward shot look out for the fescue. You won't find your ball. Lots of water on the course which comes in play very often (especially on the front nine).

As an avid golfer one thing I find very frustrating there is the tee boxes. The grass is too long and many of the tee boxes are not level (especially hole 2). On the other hand I find the course, on the whole, in good condition and challenging enough to play regularly. It is very accessible as well (right off the QEW highway at Bronte Road in Oakville).

The facilities are just ok. They have a good putting green and a not so good chipping green. There is a driving range which is nice to have but it has mats and not grass. As a true golfer I don't like that. The clubhouse is old, Kept up ok but nothing special at all. One thing I will say though is the food is very good. From the look of the clubhouse you wouldn't think that would be the case but it truly is good with decent prices.

The staff there is helpful and courteous. All in all a very good experience. A very playable and somewhat challenging layout.

Normally like this course because it is good value and has some challenging holes. Past 2 times I have played here, we have had to wait. A 3 to 4 hour round ended up being 5 hours. Think the course is packing them in too tightly these days.

This gem tucked on the Oakville/Burlington border is wonderfully laid out and cut in a way that offers for some challenging holes and scenic views along the way.

I found the course had a good amount of challenge to keep you strategizing yet not so overbearing that you snap a club over your knees. The pace of the course was acceptable and we finished our round in good time.

The service is decent, but not over the top in some areas. The starter was a little sarcastic and rough around the edges, so thank goodness the remainder of the staff from the pro shop to the bar were lovely and overshadowed one surly individual.

This is a fun course to play. A few tricky holes for the better players some easy holes for the not-so-good players. But all in all so much fun. Has a driving range, putting practice green. Delicious food and drinks. Great friendly staff. Great location just off the highway.

Been playing here for the last 5 years since it's the closest to my home. I was surprised how lush and green the course is this year. Whatever they are doing to the course please keep it up.

One issue I have though is on the day I was playing I ran into groundskeepers cutting the green and while in most courses they would pause and let me play through, this person just kept on mowing away without consideration for the player. Hopefully that was just an exception.

Greens has not been cut on the day we played. Surprised that the fairways are green and watered. Course is in the best shape that I have seen in years.
