The RMG is a vibrant, engaging public art museum located in Oshawa's civic centre between City Hall and the McLaughlin Public Library. The largest gallery in Durham Region, the RMG occupies an inspired 36,000 square foot building designed by noted architect Arthur Erickson. Featuring a Permanent Collection of over 4000 works, and four galleries of diverse and changing exhibitions, the RMG holds a significant collection of Modern and Contemporary Canadian art, and the largest collection of works by Painters Eleven in Canada. Creative education programs, an eclectic gallery shop, fun monthly events, inspiring event spaces, an art archive and library, and two art studios are found at the RMG.

This is a beautiful gallery. The entry fee is a donation. It promotes various types of art and there are events there all the time. I've enjoyed music and special events there all year long. Amazing place to take kids too.

This is a small one floor museum that takes about an hour or so. When we were there they showcased boxing photographs to coincide with the pan am games where Oshawa hosted the boxing event. Other exhibits included puppets, early photography editing and local artists....More

This is a wonderful small gallery that you can get to by Go train and a short bus ride. Worth the trip to Oshawa.

There also is a fabulous restaurant on the second floor with a yummy menu.Parking is plentiful and staff is very helpful and kind

The gallery is exceptional and if you book ahead of time, you may be able to take part in an art class. Great for all ages.
