I recently attended the National Ballet of Canada's production of Onegin at Southam Hall. What was different was that the NAC is undergoing an extensive renovation to bring this 50 year old venue into the 21st century. The first noticeable difference inside was the addition of new seats. They are better than the previous ones so it was a welcome... More

On January 1st my family and I went to see the production of Kinky Boots at Southam Hall. While the show was entertaining and worth the money, it was the hall itself that stood out. There is no longer the annoyance of having to continually get up to allow people to get to their seats in the centre because of... More

A great show about a fictitious lady, who steals the show. Joey Smallwood is not what this is about, really. What a surprise. What a show. Very long and very good!

We visited the NAC for a theater show and dinner, The food was excellent and the service was top notch. The server was very accommodating, gracefully moving us to a quieter corner when the table next door got too noisy. I had the chicken - cooked to perfection and very tasty. This restaurant is well worth the stop. I will... More

While renovations are still on going and making entering and exiting a bit confusing, Southam Hall is new and improved ... at least the seating is and it's great. The acoustics in this main concert hall have always been excellent but the layout was difficult for reaching the centre seats. Now with the extra isles people are less likely to... More

We attend events at the NAC a few times per year and the annual New Years Concert is a must. The most recent performance (Jan 2nd) was very enjoyable in terms of production and performance. Conductor Niels Muus added a much appreciated Viennese character to his personal performance; well done. Missing were some more floral arrangements to brighten up the... More

We saw the opening night of A Christmas Carol. It runs until the 31st of December. It was very well done, ingenious staging. There was something for all ages.. I had concerns with the number of small children in the audience. The children were all engaged; my only beef is several of them laughed at the jokes before I got... More

We went to see the production of Cinderella and it was fabulous, more than I expected, as it was funny, the costumes, dresses were so beautiful and elaborate. They had a 10-15 minute intermission, and overall a fantastic evening. Only disappointment was the NAC is under construction, so we had to walk around the building and access it from Laurier... I visited the NAC on two occasions. We can easily have a good view of the stage in the Southam Hall. The sound quality is excellent. The lighting is difficult to photograph in. Lovely place for a concert or show.
