Great Mall
Oct. 2020 • Friends
Great mall, quite expensive at majority of the stores but the design of the mall is very nice! Love how it’s very close to byward and very easy transportation to and from there.

Tons to offer
Sep. 2020 • Family
Great place to walk through and do some shopping.
The food court is awesome and lots of sales in the stores. Always busy not a quiet mall to say the least. Lots to offer if you are a shopper.

Customer friendly.

Surprised how close it was to Byward Market. Parking crew was very helpful even with the one time we lost our parking ticket. COVID-19 lines and store capacity limits were respected. Security and other store employees were helpful with finding other stores and food court.

Place for the idle rich
Aug. 2020
We are a couple of naive seniors, thinking that a bus trip to the Rideau Centre from Parkwood Hills to preplace a watch battery at Swatch on Wed Aug 25 morning, should be a piece of cake. First time going downtown in years, masks in place! Guess again!

OC did very well on this excursion. The bus showed up on-time, directions from bus to train were adequate, as were directions from Rideau Station to Rideau Centre. That's where the wheels fell off. Exiting the train into Rideau Centre there is ZERO guidance! We fumbled along for some time before encountering a map display that told us where we where, and where we wanted to be, J2.

OK, we were on Level 1 so we located an escalator to Level 2 after some searching. Getting to Level 2 we again found ZERO guidance to get to our destination. No indication where J2 might be. We located the food court, not helpful. Eventually found a map display, touch function not working. Got an idea what direction to head in from the map picture and amazingly stumbled onto the Swatch store. Sorry, it's only 10:30, stores don't open till 11am! OK, let's sit and wait til 11. OH! There is no sitting area except for that little pod of things, fully occupied by about ten people waiting for stores to open. What is with the 11am openings? Are we appealing only to the Rich and Famous who sleep late every day?

SWATCH opened on time and with the guidance of the staffer we found our way back to the train and got the hell out of there because the signage was of no help.

How in hell do we expect tourists to be able to find their way in and around this maze. We had ideas of a few other stores to check out since we rarely get downtown, but after our experience to that point, we bolted out, we wanted no more exploration, thank you. We might have gone back to the food court but were not sure of finding it again. It will be a VERY LONG time before we venture into the labyrinth of the RIDEAU CENTRE again. Any out of town visitors will be advised to stay clear of the place.

We did not feel welcome there and will not return unless absolutely necessary. such as when out Swatch battery runs out in about two years from now.

Cool Mall, Confusing Layout
Mar. 2020
The mall has a lot of nice stores and offers everything from cheap eats to luxury boutiques. It is right downtown and a block away from the University of Ottawa campus so midweek that area can get pretty busy. There is a parking garage at the mall that is not too expensive so I would recommend using that one if you are driving there.

A mall of hell
Feb. 2020 • Couples
This is possibly the worst shopping mall I've visited. The layout is utterly ridiculous and frankly confusing.

I've used this mall to get to the gym in the two months I've lived in Ottawa and reverted to walking around it rather than through it, even in the - 15 cold.

I'm my duration living here, I have witnessed the same homeless and drug addicts frequent the mall, and have witnessed fights and arguments. The entrance near zara is usually occupied by loiterers on the seats, just hanging around.

The shops are OK, I'm used to the great British High Street so the shops to me seemed rather uninspiring and expensive, but other people may disagree-fair enough.

In my opinion, unless you can ignore the chaos and immigration issues around you then don't visit.

Well, at least one retail mall is doing well! We were in the Rideau Mall on Boxing Day, and what a zoo! Excellent offering from name brand international retailers. Good deals as well! Nice!

Lots of shops and so clean
Dec. 2019 • Family
This mall has many good stores and I think the cleanest dining hall of any mall. If you get your food to stay it is served in real plates, bowls, glasses for your drink and metal cutlery. The food choices were great with many healthy options and reasonably priced.

This is a large downtown mall with lots of great shops including Nordstrom’s and Hudson Bay.
There is a dining food court. Underground parking is plenty.
