I love Canadian history and I loved visiting Parliament Hill and Centre Block. Incredible to hearing the stories about the building and some of the amazing history that have taken place inside those walls. The free tickets can be a little hard to come by,...More

The buildings are majestic and the statues feel as if they own the hill - guarding it! There are people all over waiting to answer you questions and help make your day better! We even got to watch the changing of the guard! worth catching.

Visited Parliament Hill twice during our three day stay in Ottawa. The 'Light Show' is superb. Hundreds of people attend nightly. Wednesday noon Yoga on the hill is also great . It's fitness in the perfect outdoor venue. Both are free!

Parliament buildings are a beautiful sight to see. They remind me of the British connection between Canada and the United kingdom. Canada is so much cleaner though.

The weather did not cooperate, but the entertainment was fantastic. Security was tight, as to be expected. The only real disappointment was the lack of any food on site $16 for a hot dog :(

What an interesting idea! I don't think I know the local area well enough to guide you, but would suggest you contact the tourism people in Gatineau.

The light show starts at 9:45 PM. Proximity to the weekend the intensity of rush will vary. Some days the rush will be so much that if you are with family, and like to have a spot in the ground I would suggest arrive early... More

Depending on how long it takes for them to tear down the stage from July 1st. If they get it down by then, then there will be a light show.
