Such a fun day out on the water with awesome guides! Really great learning experience with patient and experience guides to teach us and encourage us. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely fantastic time on the water with extremely experienced white water guides that show you the ropes and give you everything you need to develop basic white water knowledge and experience.

The best day!!! Very beginner friendly and such good instructors. The 4 hour was the perfect length to get s taste of the river.

The staff was passionate and knowledgeable, they put together an amazing day full of fun and learning. They were very personable and made us feel very comfortable in the water. Would highly recommend!

Took our Scout Troop (10 youth aged 10-14) on this urban whitewater adventure right in Ottawa. Administrative staff were accommodating and supportive, and guides were even more accommodating and supportive as well as competent and engaging. It was an expensive activity, but that pays for top-notch equipment and staff. Safety was an obvious and well appreciated priority. Progressive and practical education and training-by-doing was the methodology. Some of the smaller kids struggled with paddling and wading, but the guides were always watchful and helpful when needed. Some of the less attentive kids found the methodical training and practice, and getting-there-by-paddling and wading, tedious. However, all kids were suitably challenged, and "awesome" was the word most used at the end of the day!

The Kaya Rafting adventure was a fantastic activity, I went with my nephew 17. The intensity level was moderate, and entirely up to each participant as to what they felt comfortable doing. Once we signed up we received an online course that really helped up be prepared for what to expect and familiarized us with the terms and what we would experience. All the equipment was provided with wetsuits, helmets, PFD, a dry bag for our things, and some cookies for snacks.
The instructors were AMAZING! Danny led our group and walked us through each step of learning how to swim in light rapids, and how to navigate river eddies really made us comfortable as we progressed. By the end of the exercises, we completely felt ready to work our way up and through the different level rapids. In Ottawa are not as intense as they look from the shore :D. Actually very short runs 20m ride at the longest.
Great group activity, recommend that you are a decent swimmer of course. Perfect pre-planned activity because if there is rain or shine you can go. In our group, we had a kid probably 12 years old and 90lbs, who was the first into every exercise he had the best time, as we all did. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Danny and Benji are excellent instructors and guides. They are very passionate about what they do. The comms and prep before the activity is super detailed and very well structured. I loved how they chunked must-know knowledge nuggets into micro lessons on the activity day. I experienced a fantastic introduction to whitewater kayak rafting.

Inspiring, challenging, at the moments good amount of fear factor but with sweet taste of achievement at the very end. And guess what you never know when knowledge of white water will you need in real life. Peanut $$ investment that can save you a life or life of someone dear to you thanks a few cents by Dan Pelet and his team.

If only there were 6 stars!! they deserve it. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect combo to be confident to face the challenges for someone who can barely swim. They made it easy, manageable, and super safe. Extraordinary experience!!

I went on the urban trip with the volunteer group Youth Leaders Ottawa Riverkeepers. I have a medical condition and require a service dog . Boreal went above and beyond in accommodating us. They set us up with a kayaraft that fit both of us and was suitably durable. They held me move the boat when I couldn't manage it on my own and were often checking in to make sure things were going well. They called me weeks before hand to work out what accommodations would be needed
We had one night where we rafted to an island and had dinner around a campfire learning about the native history of the area from an indigenous man.
Day two we learned about fossils from a geologist and learned about kayarafting. We did some smaller rapids and slowly build up our skills to take out some bigger waves.
Day three we did some bigger waves and had a tour of the Ottawa water purification plant.
They provided lunches , snacks and dinner. It was great food sourced from local restaurants. It was fantastic.
I really enjoyed the way were were led and taught. The guides are fantastic and friendly.
