Ideal bike rental for the Rideau Canal

Excellent, helpful and friendly staff went out of their way to make our rental experience easy and enjoyable. Great place to rent bikes for the Rideau canal. Bikes are not expensive and were of good quality.

Very friendly, informative, helpful and hospitable! This is the place to rent skates for the Rideau Canal.

When visiting Ottawa to skate the Rideau Canal, my wife and I stopped by Cyco's to rent skates. First plus is that you can rent skates for 24 hours, so you can keep the skates overnight if you want to night skate or be ready to skate first thing in the morning. Second, the prices for rentals are more than reasonable... 24 dollars for 24 hours! You can't beat that on the canal. Third, the owner, Gord, was extremely helpful and informative. He gave my wife and me skates that were comfortable, well kept and recently sharpened (hey, I've rented skates in other places that look like they haven't been sharpened in years). Also, Gord helped us out with information on where to park and how to access the Rideau Canal (it was our first time in Ottawa, so this info really helped).
I would strongly recommend Cyco's for your skate rentals or skating needs for the canal. Cyco's made our Rideau Canal experience that much more enjoyable.

We traveled to Ottawa for winterlude and wanted to skate the canal. We rented skates from Cycos and found the staff to be amiable, and knowledgable. The skates were sharpened and in great shape and the store was near access to the canal. We appreciated the fair price for rental as well. i recommend Cycos as a place to rent skates, snoeshoes and other equipment.

Fast and efficient service with a smile

First day the canal was open in 2017. Hadn't looked at my skates since March 2016. They clearly needed sharpening. Cyco's is at less than a minute from the canal, so that's where I went. I was third in line, at 10 am. My skates were done in less than ten minutes, including the wait.
Other customers were renting skates, getting information or advice. All were met with a smile and courtesy.
I'll definitely go back. At $5.00 a pop, the price is more than right!!

Bike Delight!

While vacationing in Ottawa in mid November, we were fortunate to have had the pleasure of touring the Rideau Canal trail by bike. The weather was sunny and mild. Many bike rentals had already completed their summer/fall season. We were lucky to have found Cyco's. The gentleman was very pleasant and helpful. The rental price was adjusted upon return of the bike depending on how long you had the bike-in favor of the renter. They also rent ice skates during the winter season...... Go to know for the next trip.

Fixes and winter recommendations

I had issues with brakes and other things so I drop my my neighborhood spot, Cyco's.

So, chatted with them about winter commuting and they offered great tips for stud tires and weekly care.

I'm going to drop off my bike there every Friday this winter and pick it up Sunday. They'll dry it out and take care so it'll last longer.

Looking forward to my first winter commuting by bike.

It smells of bike store! I assume that this is a family owned business. They are kind - even by Canadian standards they stand out! - and helpful. And their prices are more than reasonable!

This is a small business specialising in bike sales, repairs, rentals, etc.... I rented 2 bikes today after researching bike rental companies around Ottawa. This one was the nearest to my hotel, and by far one of the cheapest, so I decided to give it a go. And what a good idea it turned out to be! Staff here are so friendly and helpful, and the bikes in great working order. I would not hesitate to use this company again and urge anyone looking for a fun way to spend a few hours around Ottawa to do the same.

Excellent value for money and outstanding service

I rented a couple of bikes today to spend a few hours exploring Ottawa. I could not have hoped for a better service or friendlier, more helpful staff. What's more, at CA$25 for a whole day, prices are amongst the cheapest that I have found in Ottawa. You don't even need to commit to a set number of hours in advance, you can just take the bike, and when you return it, they will work out the cheapest possible rate for you depending on how long you have had it for. I would definitely use this little company again and can't recommend it more warmly.
