Landsdowne market is remarkably good!

I have visited twice this month and was impressed with the number and variety of vendors. Housed for the winter in the remarkable Aberdeen Pavilion.

A great place for quality local food and for taking visitors

Wide choice for a price

Probably a hundred merchants on a snowy cold Sunday afternoon. Held in huge cavernous building which doesn't heat very well. Large variety of foodstuff, many offering samples. Also places where they can serve you prepared food to eat on site. Well worth a visit.

Quality and diversity

The By Ward as known by the locals offers quality farm products. The market also offers various produce shops, including fish, meat and European specialties. Everything for the table can be found.

Pricey but nice fresh food

The peaches were phenomenal. The plums had large ones on the top and then tiny ones on the bottom (rather dishonest)! The quiche with apples and blue cheese was extremely rich and needed salt (the one we really wanted was sold out). The first place to stop is at the bread kiosk as we didn't and when we were leaving the line-up was unreal. Wish we had gone first! It's pretty and has lots of variety in an open area. It rained a bit so bring an umbrella if it looks dicey as it is all outside. Park indoors close to "G".

Real farmers market- this is not downtown
Jul. 2018 • Family
This is located at 1000 Exhibition way and happens on Sundays from 10am-3pm. Many people are posting pictures of the Byward Market on this listing. I am posting correct pictures below.

The market is great and you can walk on Bank street from downtown. It takes about half an hour to walk. There are lots of vendors selling fruits, vegetables, baked goods, honey, soaps, and a few art/jewelry sellers. There are also lots of vendors selling unique lunch meals.

Sunday treat, good variety
Jul. 2018 • Couples
What a pleasant way to spend a sunny Sunday morning! The stalls are at the back of Landsdowne (if you are coming from Bank st), near the beautiful, yellow Aberdeen pavilion. There is a large variety of vendors, with a lot of produce and products. This is not the place to buy bulk produce (go to Parkdale for that), but it is great for specialty foods. Vendors are friendly, and there are often buskers or special events like exotic cars nearby. Bathrooms are available inside the pavilion.

Christmas Market
Dec. 2017 • Couples
We had a great shop at the market on Saturday morning. We went early and had no issue getting free parking on a side street in the Glebe! The vendors are all friendly and upbeat. We sampled so many wonderful things. Purebred purple maize bread is to die for. All the treats at Yummy Cookies were a huge hit. Art-is-In is great too but I found it was more expensive than comparable goods from the smaller vendors. We are heading back again to get more winter root veggies for our Christmas holiday meals. I also saw lots of great host gifts ranging from maple treats to wines to sauces to jams. Can’t wait to go back!

Not a real farmers' market..for that you have to go to the Byward market downtown or Parkdale Market in the west end....but not bad

Amazing market with great variety
Sep. 2017 • Friends
The market was huge with lots of variety- the only disappointment was that it was closed after dinner but obviously they can't be open 24 hours a day :). Lots of fresh veggies and artsy stuff too! Really fun to walk around.

A MUST, Wonders to Behold!
Jul. 2017 • Couples
Fresh fruit and veg., beautifully displayed! I love taking photos of the art work of the produce vendors! Enjoy seeing the artists, food, artwork, jewelry and enjoy feasting on a snack, lunch or dinner in the Market! There are so many spots to visit, and things change regularly! Performing artists etc! Take time to wonder and visit the Market, Vendors and Stores! Love it!
