Not only is there litter pretty much everywhere, there still are responsible people who want to do the right thing. My last visit there on a Sunday, it was packed and because there are no recycling bins on thee beach, people are throwing cans and bottles in the grave cans by the dozen. It seems to me that a week doesn’t go by and you hear some city of Ottawa politician complaining that people are not using the recycling & composting enough in this city...our landfills are busting over! Maybe you should practise what you preach and install proper recycling bins at the public beaches.
As an added note, despite the ban on smoking in public places, people are smoking and vaping everywhere at Westbrook Beach.

My wife and I enjoy going into places with Live bands playing and have been to many places in Ottawa to watch and dance. We came to Westboro Beach Café the first time on a Thursday August 24 for the live band and found out Fiesta Cubana band was playing when we got there. We sat with friends close to the made up dance floor next to the band. Later we were told there is a cover charge of $10 per person which was not pre-announced. We NEVER paid to watch a band in Ottawa so this is a surprise. Our friends who watched other bands before told us they never had to pay except for the food and drinks they consume. Turned out the band was not even that good, started late past 7:30pm instead of 7pm, played 4 songs and took almost an hour break. To make matters worse, they placed extra tables and chairs for a large group on the dance floor leaving only a space for 8 people to move around. This is the worst place we have ever been in Ottawa and I blame the management for letting this happen. Needless to say we will never go back. If you want to listen for real good quality bands without having to pay to see them, go to Casino du Lac Leamy on a Friday or Saturday at 9:30pm. For a lighter / softer type of live music, Rideau Carleton raceway have bands playing Friday/Saturday at 8pm. I guarantee you will enjoy the music and the dancing. For a Sunday afternoon 2-6pm, Aylmer Marina have UNO band which I rate much better than Fiesta Cubana and I don't have to pay to see them..

Decent parking and nice beach, facing west for great sunset views! Also good onsite restaurant/bar as well with good selection of snacks and drinks.

We are now into the fourth year of construction at Westboro beach. The ancient fossil beds have been destroyed in the process. No more cliffs touching a perfect blue sky - just another commercial development with garbage, stench, and eventual dilapidation. "The Westboro Beach Community Association said the update to the beach will help make it a four-season attraction" (1) . The real attractions were sand, water, blue sky, fossil beds, untouched white snow and cool ice formations in the winter, ancient cliffs etc. (1) cbc.ca, Apr 9th, 2022

The service was very slow and rude. The food and music was nothing to write home about. Better patios elsewhere in the city. It would be better to just pack a picnic and hang out at the beach.

Outstanding views and a really nice and clean beach. We got there after a really nice walk around the neighborhood. It was really nice to end up at that great place. Also it was something really nice to see people from a association taking care of the place, giving advice to visitors and making the place even better. Really nice place

This is a great beach. Small, but beautiful view, location and they have a great canteen bar/restaurant. There is also free parking.

You are at a beach in Ottawa city center. The Westboro Beach Cafe is well known and loved by those who enjoy bistro food and live music in the fresh air. Thursday and Friday we have Latin music, Friday we have Blues and Saturday and Sunday we have Regae.
Many locals actually get up and dance in a small open area in front of band.

This used to be a fun place for kids. Went there yesterday for nachos with grandkids and waited 30 minutes for food to be brought to table (we had a number). When it hadn't arrived I went to window and nachos were sitting behind counter. Cold. But cold wasn't the worst part. They were small and terrible. Not like they used to be. Great location but lousy food and no service.

Enjoy reggae music at the Westboro Beach Cafe 4 nights a week all summer long. Nice beach. Good cafe run by the famous Newport pizza people. But music and drinks at the beach brings a carribbean smile to Ottawa.
