Very nice, relaxing 2-hour boat ride on the beautiful St. Clair river. Clean seating areas (lower and upper decks), simple but good (all vegetarian) fare, lots of options for juices, pop, beer...nice commentary about all the places along the river on the Canadian and US sides, clean bathrooms, friendly staff with an adorable baby and a very confident toddler who already has his sea legs. Only...be sure to call them before boarding on a trip and get a live-person confirmation after emailing them the booking request. They don't reply if the cruise is fully booked. So you may be disappointed if you go there thinking you will buy tickets and the cruise is fully booked and no one cancels.

An excellent two hour afternoon cruise that had informative narrative from the captain about the businesses and their histories along the St. Clair River. The trip went south to Stagg Island and then back upriver to Sarnia. Good weather on a Sunday afternoon. Start was 2:30 pm cost was $18. A couple of drinks from the bar and views of both American side and Canadian side. Absolutely worth it on a warm summer afternoon.

Having been to Sarnia a few times this was a chance to see it from a whole other angle and it didn't disappoint. Great views of both the Canadian and American side, worth the money I'd say.

This was my third time on this boat.

First it took me two days to connect to get a reservation. Their “mailbox” was always full. Their phone message advised to leave email for faster service which I had done. Eventually I got an email response. This was my first Brunch Cruise.

On the two prior cruises there had been excellent commentary that was funny and informative. Ideal when taking out of town guests. This time no commentary.

Previously the boat went south past Stagg Island. This was very interesting. This time we went north first and not nearly as far south. We remained in the refinery district on Canadian side.

I since have commented to the company and I am informed that there is no commentary on brunch or lunch cruises. They related that commentary is only on sunset cruises which I have never done or sightseeing cruises.

I do seem to recall lasagna in previous cruise but they informed me I am mistaken.

If you wish commentary check before you go.

I was invited by some friends on a lunch cruise...so I went. It was a nice day to go, but right from the start it seemed unorganized. Once we finally got going you could not understand a word the "Captain" was saying from the mumbled static speaker. The staff were easy to spot, but did not act very fast at assisting people. The food looked like it was slopped together during the 30-40 min we waited on the dock. All cold.

The view was nice...beautiful.

The only way I can fathom that this vessel has a four star ranking on here is because it's likely mostly friend and family reviews. (Some are obvious)

I guess I just expected more, it felt more like taking a toll ferry.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself on the cruise. The view is quite great and I loved the music they played. Sarnia does not have many great attractions but the Duc d'Orleans is a guaranteed fun time. I have never dealt with such courteous & professional staff. Before the cruise began I even got a chance to witness how the staff reacts & handles erratic customers. A mother & i believe her son were acting very rude & absolutely could not be reasoned with by one of the employees Josh. Who i have to say handled the situation perfectly. So if you're aboard a cruise and this happens to you don't fret the staff knows how to handle it professionally. I definitely recommend the Duc d'Orleans to anybody looking for a great time.

I've experienced the afternoon cruises a few times and always enjoyed them. You can do them with or without a lunch, and can bring some snacks if doing the cruise without lunch. Either way it's a wonderful relaxing time enjoying the views along the St Clair River. Really makes you realize how lucky we are here in Sarnia to have such beautiful waterways. Some really gorgeous homes and properties along both sides of the river--fun to see how "the other half" lives.I'd recommed the Duc to anyone looking for something to do on a summer afternoon. They do fun party cruises at night too.

What a wonderful evening on the Duc D'Orleans. CDDC was playing, it was a hot cloudy start to the cruise, looked like a storm was rolling in. It cleared!! The crew on board the DUC were friendly and courteous. The live band was so much fun. The music they played was versatile and they sang great. It was a fundraiser for a small local charity. Medically Fragile children in Sarnia. Great cause.

Have to register ahead of time. Reasonably priced. Captain was knowledgeable and funny. Food was great selection; potatoes & macaroni salad, beans, olives, carrots, celery, cucumber, buns, cold cuts, butter tarts, fruit salad, cold water, lemonade. Cocktails for purchase.
Don't need a sweater if temp. is over 30C.
Great to spend middle of the day when it is too hot to go anywhere else. Would love to go again.

We took a party of 6 on the lunch time cruise down the St. Claire River from the Sarnia harbour area, and overall its was OK; the staff were OK, not terrifically friendly, but OK, the boat is quite nice too. The Captain did a good job of acting a tour guide talking about the different points of interest on both the Canadian & US shorelines which was an unexpected plus.

The real weak spot was the food; there was a pretty limited range of stuff to pick from (all cold, even the baked beans!) and the overall impression was of a school canteen. The only think that resembled dessert was a butter tart that you had to put on your paper plate alongside all the cold salad stuff etc.

I appreciate Sarnia is not (yet) centre of the entertainment universe, but it really felt like they'd just "cheaped out" and that really took the shine off an otherwise pleasant way to while away a couple of hours.

Other minor niggle was, they told me to be there for 11.30 prompt, but then we all sat about for 30 minutes till it left at 12, which when you have guests and young kids to keep entertained is a wee bit of an annoyance to be frank.

Once is probably enough for the grand ol' Duc.
