This is a fantastic insight into a bit of Canadian history, exposing the visitor to the lifestyles of the fur trade and War of 1812 eras. The 20-minute film that starts the visit is fascinating, then it takes only a half hour to walk through the historic home.

Lovely old stone house-one of the oldest buildings in Canada. Also a nice log cabin above an old powder house The movie offers some interesting history and the house and cabin are recreated very well to bring one back to that time. I'd highly recommend this.

Like the old settings and artifacts. People working there are very informative. They do tours for the public and schools.

Interesting mix of history. There is a short movie at the start of your self guided tour which explains why the two housed are together on the same property. It also explains the history of the Northwest Company and the Hudson's Bsy Company, something we were introduced to at the start of our trip at Historic Fort William's in Thunder... More

Lovely gardens -veggies being grown to represent the time period. The houses were okay wish they had a few more labels on some of the pieces. The center was really the best part of the site. Could better understand the war of 1812 and the reflection upon both Canada and USA.

We were able to tour these historical stone houses as part of a package for the Agawa Canyon train tour. We were glad we got a chance to see them although we got to the houses late and only had an hour before closing time. There is a visitor centre where you could watch a movie beforehand to learn about... More
