We’ve done dozens of escape rooms and The Crux by far is one of the best! Rooms never disappoint. We most recently did The Cat Lady and LOVED it. Great theme for all ages too!

Our experience here was wonderful. The gentleman working tthat evening greeted us, was well informed and helpful since this was our first escape room experience. We did the Cat Lady room and it worked well for 4 people. We managed to get out with 10 seconds to spare in our 50 minute window. I would highly recommend and would go back anytime to try a different room.

This was our 8th or so escape room we have done, various different companies. My boyfriend and I did the Crazy Cat Lady. Though it was much smaller than other rooms we have done, it was just as fun! We actually made it out with 27 seconds to spare! I would recommend keeping the number of people doing this room to a minimum count. This game is linear (one clue at a time), so smaller groups for sure. It was perfect for the two of us. Anything over 4 people would be too much. The women explaining the game was excellent. Jovial and professional.

Went with a friend for the 2 person clinical trial room. The challenge itself was fun, the staff were welcoming and helpful and it was a great night.

I went in thinking we wouldn't escape because I've been to the rooms before and they can be very tricky but while the Cat Lady room was challenging, WE DID IT! Great fun! Thanks for the experience. we'll be back for sure!

My wife and I have done many escape rooms in our day, but trying to complete the cat lady as a duo was a bit much for just the two of us I am afraid.
The good news is that defeat is not without its fun at The Crux. The room, though it was the smallest I have taken part in, was jam packed with puzzles and the details were great. I don't care to list what I specifically liked in the room as I don't want to accidentally spoil anything.
The Crux puts together good rooms and the idea that there are multiple locations and that they seem to be moving their rooms from location to location means that there is no danger of the place going stale. The staff was nice and the experience was well worth it.

We're escape room junkies, we've done just about every escape room from the Niagara River to the Grand River, and we've done just about every room The Crux has to offer in all of its locations. This used to be The Hour until it moved to St Paul St, so we were familiar with their 'inherited' rooms, but we hadn't done The Factory. The puzzles were good and challenging. The location, however, was odd. St Paul St is a fine place for an escape room, but they really need to do more with the interior, it's just too rough and unfinished on the inside, and it makes it feel like the place is really slap-dash.

Thanks for the review, Matt! We're glad to hear we have enthusiasts like you following around! You'll be interested to hear we are going to be moving this location again because of the exact problems you saw with that building. Unfortunately when The Hour St. Catharines signed that lease, there was some conditions in it that tied our hands re: finishing the building. Look ahead to our next location in St. Catharines to see some big things coming!

We visited on the 28th of December when my son wanted our family to all go. Five of us played and though only my son had tried an escape room before, we all quickly figured out how to get out. The rooms are well set up and you are monitored the entire time so if you need help or a hint, there's always someone listening. It took a little while for me to understand what to do, and that's where it helped to have my son , who had tried this type of thing before.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I found that the site itself was exactly as it should be, nothing fancy, with clean rest rooms.
Parking is free after 6pm on the street (up to 3 hours) so no issues with that. A fun night out with my family.

There are different themes rooms and we did the Cat Lady and it was a great experience to see how we work as a team. Even if you don't figure it out in an hour they give you extra time to try to complete it. If you are wondering if you are actually locked in and don't want to try it because of this...no you are not. It is against fire safety codes to do so. You can come and go if you need to. You should reserve ahead of time and the cost is $30...discount offered if you booked online. It's worth the experience!

Our rooms can support 2-12 players, depending on your choices. We can also support larger groups in corporate or party events doing multiple rooms simultaneously.
