- Steven IToronto, Canada78 contributionsWelcoming Service. Extensive Grounds. The grounds are encompassing. It would be great to return during a more favourable climate season. Plethora of outdoor seating options with forthcoming dining. The grounds are fully licensed. Wonderful gift shop and bakery and Art Gallery, the latter which was sadly closed during the visit. The wines were alright. Of those tasted common notes of acidic and sour prevalent. However, the Reserve Pinot Gris was very good. Gamay, which is the well known varietal from this vineyard was good, however more full bodied and less fruit than what was expected. Service was welcoming and pleasant with good detail about the wines tasted.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten April 30, 2024
- OntarioOliver10 contributionsStick to the tartsI’ve only been in the bakery and their butter tarts are incredible. However, purchased a frozen peach pie that I had to bake and two hours later the dough was still raw. Pretty embarrassing to serve to my company…wouldn’t recommend buying their frozen items.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 25, 2024
- PhotoDudeIIIToronto, Canada129 contributionsCome For The Wine, Stay For The Butter TartsA popular and busy mid-sized winery in the Beamsville/St. Catharines area. Did a wine tasting here, and they are known for their Gamay wines, and they are indeed quite good. The Syrah is nice as well. The whites I tried didn’t knock my socks off, but your mileage may vary. Also on the grounds are an Art Gallery, with Modern Art being the theme; a bistro restaurant (didn’t try that so can’t comment); and finally a bakery, where you can buy pre-made goods, get a latte (to sober you up), and devour delicious butter tarts. You HAVE to get the butter tarts (providing of course you like butter tarts). The grounds have a really nice relaxing vibe to it, and you just want to hang out and chill. Now I imagine when it’s super busy (which this can be) the relaxing part will go away. Note for weekend visitors, 13th Street Winery is closed on Sundays (virtually unheard of in the NOTL area for a winery, hence why I am mentioning it), so plan accordingly.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 17, 2024
- GattoViziatoUnited States836 contributionsGreat wine, wonderful experienceA great winery, bakery and art gallery. We had their sparkling the night before and decided to drive over and try and buy more. The tasting room was very helpful. We bought a variety of their sparkling wines. I wish I had known that they have really wonderful food options there versus where we stopped on the drive. Their baked goods looked phenomenal! We toured the sculpture garden and gallery. This is a really well done all encompassing winery. They have something for everyone and really beautiful views. We highly recommend going there!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten November 7, 2024

My sister booked a Wine Tasting @ 4pm on July 9th, 2022 for me, my niece and herself. It was a Birthday Experience filled with wonderful adventures. The Wine tasting was phenomenal and Dianne was extraordinary. She was knowledgeable and did not lead us down the garden path although I will say the grounds are stunning with the forest and the rows and rows of grapes and the Art Gallery. This is truly a unique experience like no other. But the pièce de résistance was the butter tarts from their bakery. Kill me now, I've died and gone to heaven. Plain Butter tart; Raisin Butter Tart; Pecan Butter Tart are the choices and I have never ever in my life tasted anything so scrumptious. My god, I will drive back just for them. Bravo Thirteenth Street!!

This is a must when visiting Niagara Falls or Niagara on the lake and well worth the extra 15 minute drive. This is a unique experience combing the arts with food and wine. The grounds were decorated with art sculptures and everything was light and open. The smells from the food was mouth watering and sadly we were not hungry when we stopped but will amend that on our next visit. I wanted to visit the bake shop as the reviews stated this a must but I knew if I did, I would have wanted to try everything.
We loved the experience with the tasting and learning about the wines. The art gallery was great…loved reading about the artist and was so touched by Walter Redinger’s story. It’s one thing to appreciate art but understanding the artist and from where they draw their inspiration just takes it to another level.
Oh and the people are so friendly too!

Excellent experience all around. Shane was incredible, very personable and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to talk wine with him and to hear his recommendations and find some great wines as a result.
The current vintages in the premium/ wine club selections are top notch. Really looking forward to trying the new vintages and seeing what the future has in store for 13th street.
The bakery was phenomenal as always, the skor butter tarts are a MUST TRY, also love many of their jams and jelly’s. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, we didn’t go through the gallery but the lawn pieces are always interesting.
We have visited majority of the wineries across the Bench and NOTL and 13th Street is one I highly recommend to everyone.

I have always enjoyed 13th Street, however since they put in their new outdoor kitchen, for some reason they have less variety and no real plant based options. They did not even put in a pizza oven. Their only overall improvement in food is a new coffee maker. I used to go for lunch there a lot, now I never go. It’s a very nice setting, great bakery and coffee, but their lunch menu is very sparse and just not worth it. Other local wineries also have a nice setting and a way better menu. It’s like others are trying to attract customers and 13th is just sitting back thinking people will come. I won’t and I suspect others won’t as I heard similar comments from people who were just drinking wine.

Much MORE filling in the tarts!
Their tarts taste great!
HOWEVER:
I always compare any butter tarts I buy to the ones my mother used to make when I was a kid. Hers were homemade pastry, and she filled the shells with tart filling. All tart makers today seem to try to get away with as little filling as possible, while still charging a premium price, and 13th street is guilty of this. Therefore, I think their tarts are seriously overpriced for what you get in them!!!

We had a flight of wines and found them all very light and the pours were small. We did not purchase any as they are expensive for the quality. The foccoccia pizza seemed undercooked - very doughy. It was served cold - needed grilling. The service staff were friendly. The grounds are beautiful and it was a nice setting to have a late lunch. The bakery had very good butter tarts. Overall ok but I don’t think we would go back.

Wanted to partake of the local wine festival so we stopped by this place because it seemed to check all the boxes. We arrived on a sunny weekday, and I guess others had the same idea - parking lot crowded and bustling.
We stopped first at the bakery: 1 plain butter tart; 1 pecan butter tart; 1 sour cherry tart; 1 chocolate peanut cookie (large). More on these later.
We ordered a shredded beef sandwich with aioli, peppers on a focaccio bun. The meat was piled high and cooked to perfection; the bun was fresh and delicious. Possibly the best sandwich we had sampled all year.
We coupled it with a sandstone Gamay wine - recommended by staff as a light red for a warm sunny day. They were right: a perfect match.
Baked goods: The claim at 13th Street is their butter tarts are the best in the country - while my partner thought them a touch too sweet I thought their reputation was well deserved.
The sour tart had just the right tang & sweet combination and all the pastry was rich, fresh, and buttery enough that it spread over your fingers as you bit in.
The chocolate peanut cookie again had the right texture, combination of ingredients , and was fresh fresh fresh.
My partner took in the art gallery and I walked the grounds checking out various sculptures strategically placed on the lawns.
Great way to say goodbye to summer. (As I write this they are getting ready to close the outdoor amenities down). We shall return, and we do recommend

A winery with an opportunity to experience something different. The grounds liberally sprinkled with sculptures of many types is your first cue that there is more than wine here.
A large open air bistro area to enjoy wine and food on offer, tasting room, bakery & gift shop and then a roomy stand alone art gallery with showings changing monthly. Plan on spending some time and exploring all that interests you. There is plenty of parking which is definitely as asset on busy weekends in the summer

I have never been so disappointed in my life. What a beautiful setting and such beautiful artwork all around, but you stand in line to order your food and pay before to get it, only for it to show up in cardboard bowls and boxes with the cheapest plastic utensils they could find over half hour later. They bend when you use them. The food was not memorable in the least. My two friends had the summer squash salad for $16 each and they said it wasn’t great. We also ordered burrata which was small and came with a small loaf of white bread for $18 which had no flavour. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich which was good but couldn’t cut it due to the cheap utensils. It’s not a sandwich which you can hold as it has a poached egg on top $17. I asked the server to please get me a real knife and she told me “we don’t do that” I told her I have a disability and can’t cut with the wobbly plastic knife so she trotted off to get me a knife and literally threw it on the table. We each had a glass of wine (3) and the bills came to over $100 just to eat out of cardboard. Sorry but I won’t be back.

This is one of our absolute favourite places in Niagara. We love everything about it. We are long time wine club members, and visit the property frequently. The staff are extremely friendly, the bakery good are delicious, the new art gallery is impressive, and the property as a whole is stunning. We recommend 13th Street Winery to all of our guests at our vacation property, who always send us their very positive impressions upon visiting. Highly recommend.
