We enjoy going to the beach in Port Dalhousie and we love watching the kids enjoy this beautiful Carousel. It's worth bringing the kids to the beach to get some ice cream.

Mainly geese on the grass and gulls on the beach. Quiet area. Pretty deserted in mid September. The park is well apportioned.

Such a wonderful experience! Reminiscent of bygone days when things were just a bit slower. Would recommend for children and children at heart.

Out of town guests have enjoyed riding on the carousel. The painted horses are a treasure. The sound is a bit annoying and loud, but still, it is a recommended experience

No line-ups, good fun! So happy that this carousel is still operational and still at only 5 cents a ride!

A relaxing, fun time. The grandkids didn’t want to leave.
Us older folks appreciated the exquisite hand painted features, old time music.
Young staff appeared pretty bored but... teenagers on a hot day. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Thank you to the city and all founders.

Parking limited due to dock construction and main lot closed. Can walk in from street to beach. Who knows when it will be open, says Spring the dock work is to be done.

I've been riding the carousel at Lakeside Park since I was a child. You can't beat the 'nickel' a ride. The wait in line is never very long and the look on the children's faces that wait in anticipation will bring a smile to your face. The carousel animals are kept in fantastic shape to ensure the safety and visual appeal to all who come to ride them.

There's not much you can get for a nickel anymore. But you can still ride the perfectly-restored carousel in Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie. Lovingly restored by volunteers year after year, the carousel cannot fail to put a smile on your face, no matter your age. Lineups at peak times are common but the ride is worth the wait and the line moves quickly. Go for the animals that actually ride up and down as you go around, as not all do. Some are simply fixed in place. The good ones are easy to spot and go quickly. Have fun!

For 5 cents you can have your children experience what you did as a child - 1 2 min ride on the carousel

Parking is free. Parking lot can fill up fast. Arrive early and you may not have too much trouble. You can park on the back streets of Port and then walk to the beach.
