Due to very high water level in Lake Ontario and all the rain the beach is pretty much under water - pier is closed off due to damage and the park is quite a mess - hopefully when the rains stop the lake will lower and give this beautiful gem of a beach back... normally, this is a beautiful area....so... Walk on the beach, eat an ice cream. Jump on the carousel - still 5c a ride. Take a picnic. Watch your kids play on the playground. Easy parking. Great eateries within a three minute walk. We love The Port!

Lakeside beach memories! Forget the fact that the water is unclean and it can smell too bad to lay out sometimes. The view can be spectacular and if you are lucky enough to get out from shore on a boat to watch Canada Day Fireworks you'll never forget it!

Nice beach, but not like it used to be...less family environment... Only beach volleyball or swimming at your own risk...at least they still have the carousel for 5cents

The beach is wide and sandy. One can wade out quite a way before the water becomes deep. There is a very large parking lot and a pavilion which will soon be re-built providing a picnic area. It is also the home of a very old but pristine carousel. The rides have remained at a nickel to this day. This... More

Good beach for volleyball....lots of nets. For swimming, not so good. Sometimes foul-smelling in hot weather, although they do make an attempt to keep it clean. I used to like to walk the pier on the east side of the beach, but half of it is closed off now.

The Beach is the Same Fabulous Sugary Sand as it ever Was, the area is undergoing a bit of a renewal as the Piers have been closed down partially and local landmarks are being slowly replaced with new restaurants and boutiques. Lovely fine sand beach, little ice cream kiosk, green grass for frisbee or what-have-you. The water is so-so; make sure it's safe to swim before you plunge. Hoping they re-open the marina walk soon!

Great beach for walking and water sports. They have several volleyball post installed, so anyone with a net can setup and play. You can often join in on a game in progress. There is a water sports hut for stand up paddleboarding, that also offers drinks and food in front of the public washrooms.
