A variety of local producers and artisans showcasing their products. This summer I stopped there the morning before leaving Stratford to return to Toronto to visit family and friends on my way back home to Quebec.
I bought speciality cheeses, chutneys, and fresh peaches (the flat kind in two colours difficult to find in supermarkets) I also stocked up with very nice birthday, wedding and congratulation cards being sold by a local Stratford resident who said these were the works of his chinese wife. Truly stunning. Friends who received the cards are really pleased. You can also have specialty breads and other goodies. There are chairs and small fountains around in front of City Hall and some of the shops are also open during the market hours- all in all a great experience and a nice way to end a week of theater and good dining experience in Stratford.

If you want to meet local farmers and producers from Perth County and nearby regions, do not miss this quaint, high quality market smack-dab in the centre of town. Taste the best cheese, bread, organic veggies, coffee and more! A Sunday must! MOVES INDOORS THE WINTER!

It’s a small town and this is a small time venue. It’s a bit better in the warmer months when it’s located outside but really there is nothing about this market worth visiting. We have gone several times while indoors (winter months) and been disappointed every time. It would take you about 5 minutes of your day to cover this venue and the few booths they have set up. No offence to the wonderful people that work and visit this market on the regular. I do support and understand the whole community and social vibe:).

We discovered the Slow Food Market tucked inside a mini shopping mall in downtown Stratford. There were some vegetable and meat vendors featuring local farm produce. We picked up some greens and turmeric.

Ended our weekend at the market and found some edible treasures. Organics of every kind and quality crafts and essential oils.

The sunday market is a great place to stop and shop for fruits, cheeses, breads and pastries in a open air setting. Nice little market to check out.

Great place to stop and pick up fresh local products in a friendly environment, social setting. Sampling was encouraged when we were selecting our cheeses and we were not disappointed. The breads are also not to be missed. Wonderful place to pick up supplies for a picnic lunch.

We stopped by and perused the vendors at the market looking to buy some items for lunch later in the day as we left town. Everyone is very nice, it's a "small" market but there were options for fruits, bread, meat and a cheese monger with fresh cheese options. We'll plan to go again the next time we're in Stratford.

I love to take any opportunity to support the local farmers and artisans in Stratford. Everyone grows their own food (none of this new controversial business with buying from the Ontario Food Terminal and pawning it off as their own). Everything is delicious and excellent quality - definitely stop by the stall with the traditionally made sourdough. You WON'T be disappointed!
