Neighbourhood: Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

    Doggy Dog World
This is a small little park that my girlfriend and I happened to stumble upon when we were exploring Toronto. It's got a few cool things to see and take pictures with / of. The primary one being of course, the large fountain covered in dog statues (and one cat). Very quiet, peaceful place and the fountain makes you laugh, or at least smile. It's a bit silly, and very creative. I'm glad we stumbled across this small park.

    My favorite place in Toronto
Believe it or not, Berczy Park is my favorite place in Toronto. Ever since the "dog fountain" was built at this place, I never miss a single opportunity to go and spend at least a half of hour here and it doesn't matter if it's summer or winter. I have been here every day during my current visit to Toronto. It's relaxing to sit here and watch people taking pictures by the fountain, walking their dogs, sitting and talking... Berczy Park is literally an oasis of calm in the middle of the big city. In winter, the "fountain dogs" have scarves tied around their necks and the park is decorated with Christmas lights. In the summer, the water gushes from the dogs' mouths. When I wrote my first review of this place a few years ago, I mentioned that the fountain is made up of statues of dogs looking at a golden bone placed at the top of the fountain. And that there is one cat that doesn't care about the bone and just looks somewhere else. The author of the fountain himself replied to this review and pointed out to me that the cat was looking at a specific place. And yes, he looks at... No no, I won't tell. When you're in Berczy Park, try to find what the cat is looking at. :-)

    Great little park
This park has improved since our last visit in 2016. It is a few minutes walk from the Hockey Hall of Fame along Front Street. The great Gooderham Building is at one end and a couple of nice pieces of public art there are interesting along with the fountain featuring dogs having a drink. A fine place for a short relax.

What an adorable little park in the middle of downtown. The theme is whimsical and fun. The only downside to our visit was a man bathing (washing himself) in the lower bowl of the fountain. We simply walked around to the other side and enjoyed the the sculptures and even spotted the one cat.

It's a must-see, day and night. It's just a cute dog fountain, but I loved it. (Find the cat and what it's looking at.) It is right next to the Gooderham building aka the Flatiron and near the St. Lawrence Market, where you can get picnic supplies or a pea meal (Canadian bacon) sandwich that is delightful. Also near C'est What, a beer bar that was highly recommended by our tour guide (didn't make it there yet.). Note: better in spring/summer, as the water will be turned off in cold weather.

A small park. There is a interesting fountain with dog sculptures, other than that, nothing much. St Lawrence market is nearby so you may want to have a short visit on the way to the market.

I needed a new suitcase so we walked from the Fairmont Royal York down to Winners, about 10 minutes away from hotel ! And, what to our wondering eyes did we find, but this amazing dog fountain.........Loved it, sat and enjoyed it for a bit, and took pix of all breeds, and the one kitty , what fun! A hidden gem in the city.......... And yes, I did get a new Roots suitcase at Walmart, a wonderful trip to Toronto and this was definitely a highlight!

This fountain is incredible!!! We stumbled across it whilst walking back from St Lawrence Market and we loved it. We are both dog lovers, so this was the definitely the place for us. There is a cute bone at the top, with a range of different dogs dotted all around.

If you go, find the only cat on the edge of the fountain and see what they are looking at - super cute.

Definitely go, this park is fabulous!

I passed by Berczy Park on the way to visit the St. Lawrence food market. There is a fantastic dog fountain with statues of every kind of dog. It is a great photo opportunity and a great think to look at.
