Popped in to use 'washrooms', but quickly saw the opportunity to take the tour and sat down with a complimentary glass of Steam Whistle to wait for the start of the event. Very entertaining and informative (Jeff was our guide). Great value for money and worth the time to find out how, when and why the brewery started.

I had some friends visiting Toronto over the May long weekend and we decided to do the tour at Steamwhistle. The tour exceeded all expectations! Our tour guide Jeff made the whole experience a lot of fun and, having heard the history of Steamwhistle, I am definitely more likely to drink Steamwhistle. We were also lucky enough to get to... We decided to take the Steam Whistle tour as my husband was excited to try some samples. The tour ended up being reasonably priced, informative and fun. It was very interesting and I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. And yes, there were samples ;)

Advice is to book!! Make sure you book and then go and see how beer is truly made. The tour is really interesting and is worthwhile, but equally you can just go for a beer and relax. You get some free beer on the tour too!

Great spot to wet your whistle (couldn't resist) before a Leafs/Jays Game or heading to the Theater. Great outdoor patio to enjoy the sun.

Staffs are friendly, beers are generously FREE with tour visit. Their on-site unfiltered beer which is not for sale anywhere else is a must try!

Worst beer ever. I had to use almost half a bottle of listerine to get the stale aftertaste outta my mouth, when I said to the server that my pint tasted off, she suggested that i can either drink it or go somewhere else, I laughed it off believing that she was having a bad day, but she proved that... Stopped in for a free sample of their beer. I don't drink beer but found it very palatable. They also give tours of the distillery.

Take the guided tour. Learn about the company. Sample the produce. Make friends with likeminded people. Great friendly staff.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
