Toronto Downtown

It goes without saying that this is perhaps one of the best things you see during your walk in the downtown of Toronto.

City Hall was very beautiful! The Christmas tree was up and decorated. All of the surrounding areas were decorated with Christmas decorations. Skaters were on the rink and very nice to watch.

Decided to attend the annual Christmas tree lighting and it was fun. Choir, choir, choir was one of the opening acts and they were terrific. even though it was drizzling a tad, we are glad we attended.

A must see, always something going on, plenty of places to see and eat within walking distances. Check out the old city hall less than a block away.

This is a beautiful place to just observe the buildings around and have fun while the lights in the Toronto sign change color.

This is a fascinating appearing, modernistic building. The surrounding plazas and signage make it an appealing place to visit even if you do not happen to have business inside.

This the landmark of the new Toronto. Designed by a man who died beforeit was finished it sits in perfect opposition to the classic old city Hall across the street.

In summer just sitting in the courtyard looking up at this magnificent building is a joy in itself. Skating in the winter makes for a fun cold day activity

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
