Very interesting performance of the Messiah
Dec. 2019
Roy Thomson Hall does not have the best concert-hall acoustics in Toronto -- Koerner Hall and Weston Hall are both significantly better -- but the sound is pretty good in the rear orchestra. We heard the Mozart arrangement of Handel's Messiah with four excellent soloists and the Mendelssohn Choir. We were impressed.

A brilliant venue
Nov. 2018
In June of 2018, I came with several girlfriends to attend an event with Amal Clooney, being interviewed by Nick Clooney, a renowned journalist/activist and her father-in-law, with Sophie Gregoire Trudeau. First, what brilliant examples of female leadership. Both women and especially Ms. Clooney, are very accomplished professionals prior to their more recent claims to fame!

Back to the venue - bright, airy, and most importantly, the acoustics are brilliant. No matter where you sit, you will hear well whether a concert or talk. Outside of the auditorium is an open space for a reception or catered dining.

Not a surprise that year after year for the Toronto International Film Festival, some of the best new films are introduced here.

Beautiful music in a beautiful venue
Sep. 2019
We saw Romantic Brahms this Sunday Matinee. It was transcendent mesmerizing and beautiful music. The orchestra was superb and the conductor was excellent.
It was such a treat! We had great seats at the front centre left and it was just the right length of time with a intermission. I would highly recommend a Sunday afternoon spent listening to superb music live.
The tickets were not expensive and there were all ages and it was easy to get to with transit.

Season opener for Toronto Symphony
Sep. 2019
This was my first time to Roy Thomson Hall, and it was a pleasure. The staff were helpful, and the concessions were varied and generous for the price. I found the seating very comfortable. I doubt there's a bad seat in the house. The orchestra was fantastic.

Great Acoustics, Comfortable, Classy
Jun. 2019 • Couples
I saw the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thompson Hall. It was an excellent time! It's a fairly intimate venue right in the middle of the city.

The acoustics were perfect for the symphony of classical music. It's a modern facility with decent bar service - can't take your drinks into the show though - probably because of the cloth seats. The seats are super comfortable, with more leg room than I'm used to at venues like this. We sat behind and to the side of the orchestra and still had a really nice view and the sound was great.

The architecture is something special.

The staff were quite helpful and nice, from the ticket person to the ushers.

Attended graduation here
Jun. 2019 • Friends
We visited here to attend my son’s graduation from OCAD. It’s clearly a top class venue for all sorts of events. It’s location, near the CN Tower, Rogers Stadium etc and right next to St Andrews subway is great. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too. It’s a very interesting architectural design too.

wonderful experience
Jun. 2019 • Couples
The seats were comfortable. The staff are helpful and approachable. The washroom are huge and clean. Lighting and decor was good. I cant complain about the building. Sounds might need a bit of improvement. I enjoyed the show. Lots of restaurants around and right in the middle of downtown so public transportation is available.

We parked not underground but across (RBC building) whole night for $10.00. Parking was tight as in be very cautious driving here but our car was safe and just need more visible directions to get out. Tried to be healthy by taking the stairs but got into offices instead of the lobby. Also tickets for parking is confusing but read directions and you will be fine.

Comfortable seats.
Apr. 2019 • Couples
Went to see Jay Leno last night and I have to say the seats were comfortable and lots of leg room. Sitting for 2 hours was no problem. Lots of elbow room as well. The only aspect I did not like was the volume for sound. I was having a hard time hearing all the words. Not sure if it was Leno’s mic or the halls sound system. Anyway, I would definitely go back.
