I love this old church, St. Michael is like being in Italy. It gives you the same feeling, peace and tranquility. Many of the Saints contain relics and prayers. I hope once it's fully restored they will add more prayers and perhaps an area to buy prayer books, and Saint cards.

These photos were taken before the renovations. The row houses on the right have now been demolished for a condo. I have never been inside, I just drive by frequently, so the rating is just for the architecture and we have another cathedral nearby that is truly spectacular.

Closed at the moment for renovations but we walked outside and around the grounds, it's stunning and so well preserved. Can't wait to go back and visit when it reopens

It's one of the places that you feel humbled by God's presence. Well furnished with comfortable benches and warm during the icy winters, St. Michael's Cathedral is where you need to be on Christmas Eve to make your season jolly and hopeful. The carols in the beautiful voices of young angels will take you to another world, literally to haven.... More

When we went there in May there was major construction and all of the benches were removed and temporally replace with chairs. Overall nice look.

This is a beautiful Church. We did not go inside, and were only in Toronto for the Day, but it was certainly worth the drive from Buffalo to see a Canadian city. Toronto like many large cities has much to do, but make sure its the on season and many things are shut down unless its a weekend or special... More

This church is similar in size and grandeur to St. James, but it is largely unviewable due to the massive renovation project underway both inside and outside the church. There is scaffolding erected across most of the back portion of the interior, rendering any view almost impossible. Even the stained glass windows are mostly hidden, except those around the front... We went to the cathedral for noon Mass on Sunday. There was a lot of scaffolding in the church due to restoration, but it was still quite beautiful, and you can get a feeling for its rich history. The Mass service was very traditional. At this particular Mass, there is a boys' choir, and many of the responses are sung... More

i've been all over europe and seen my share of beautiful churches. its worth a couple pictures as you are passing by. pop by and stick your head in and maybe walk through. nothing spectacular, so no need to make an effort to see it.

Thank Christopher D

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
